Haha...that movie crossed my mind last night.

My aunt (her sister) suggested to my mom that it might be time to start carrying. LOL But at 81 I don't think she'll follow through on that.

You know the problem with imbibing a little too much is that you forget certain things.

I get paid 2 days early and so I pay off some credit cards. One of them was for $400. Bank of America. The next day I paid again not remembering the previous payment (Don't judge) lol. Why the fuck would they take another $400 on a balance already paid. I have another card that will tell you "hey you already paid. You sure you wanna schedule another one"? I didn't lose any money but it's just the fact that they do this and idgaf about credit. Now I gotta use this card until I zero out. No biggie but don't take multiple payments. I don't like credit cards for normal everyday purchases.

If you pay off your bill every month it is better to use a credit card instead of a debit card.

Fraud on your debit card is a pain in the ass, as you are trying to get your money back. Fraud on a credit card isn't your money, it's the credit card company's problem.

Im so used to debit but youre right. I gotta make the transition. I've had my shit stolen and the CC companies are on it.

They don't look at your balance before accepting the payment. They (or your bank) should be able to reverse it.

Needless to say, she's all done with carrying a pocketbook. My sister and I told her that we'll be doing the grocery shopping for her from now on and she stubbornly refuses. I hate to take away any independence from her and she really doesn't want to order her groceries online..."you never know what you're getting." Thankfully it wasn't worse. She told me she really thought she was going to get shot--and yet she still hung on to her purse.

Within 5 mins of that happening some kid was trying to steal another woman's groceries from the store--he ended up getting caught and put in cuffs. This was at Stop & Shop at 3 in the afternoon, right in front of the store--my mom always parks as close as she can. These assholes are so brazen today.

How awful. What kind of society do we live in where seniors are looked upon a prey instead of respected and protected? I don't carry a purse anymore. I carry a small cross body bag that has a built in wallet that I can put on in such a way that it is under my coat with the purse in front of me where I can keep an eye on it. If you don't have to carry a bunch of stuff, it's safer.

Seniors have always been prey. My grandmother was mugged in Oakland CA. My family's birthplace. My mother was raised in that neighborhood. I always hated to go to my grandmother's. This was late 70's early 80's. These motherfuckers didn't care my grandma bought that house in the 40's

Credit card companies would rather get the most money from you then put in a simple edit to check for payments already scheduled.
