From diagnosis to death, it was roughly 3 months.

Mom passed August 29th, 2021.

Ya know, now that I think of it, the last week of every month can just get fucked.

Dad died June 28th, 2010.
Mom died August 29th, 2021.
My fiancée's stepfather died October 26th, 2022.
Now my brother on November 26th, 2022.

What's next? I wake up tomorrow and one of my testicles randomly detaches?

Simulated wormhole done with a computer, not a real one.

In a lab space, they basically proved the Einstein-Rosen Bridge, but they didn't make an actual wormhole.

yeah I get that But perhaps my mind is just to pedestrian to understand the wormhole theory. Every time I read about worm hole or "white hole" theory I end up getting to the end and going...I still don't know what the hell they are talking about

So now comes this simulation, that proves the theory that I am still pondering. What the hell is a worm hole. Too many times I have googled "what is the difference between a black hole and a worm hole" My mind just cannot grasp it for some reason.

I am so sorry to hear that. It has to be a special grief at losing a sibling. So young too. Colon cancer is starting younger these days and for many, by the time they are diagnosed, its already been in them a decade

Colonoscopy is so important. It isn't as bad as it used to be, the prep is really easy and frankly, you will remember very little of the procedure afterwards because the drugs they give you are kind of a memory wiper.

I remember arriving at the hospital. A couple of minutes in the pre surgery room. Then I don't remember much of anything until later in the afternoon after I was home except one little snippet when the doctor told me he was glad I scheduled this because he removed a tiny polyp from an area where you really don't want to see polyps so I am on a 5 year plan instead of a 10 year plan for my next scope. Then one snippet when my boy arrived to drive me home. nothing else. I might have said all kinds of crazy stuff but no one has mentioned it My boy is 42 and I plan on nagging him to get tested at 45

Guys, if you are 45 or over and haven't had this done, get it scheduled. It is the only screening that can actually PREVENT cancer by removing the polyps before they can become something worse.

Make it your new years goal.

Nope I was gassy that night at home and I remember it seemed like every time I rolled over in bed I passed gas. I do understand that you have to start farting before they let you leave tho.

Ha-Ha! A small discomfort for hopefully peace of mind. personally, I think they should lower the recommended age by another 5 years—more so for a family history.

About the only bit of advice I could give during prep and the day of is “never trust a fart!” The prep day is wonderful…

It sucks at any age but 53 is way too young.

Sorry to hear that. The more I read stuff like this I realize that my brother living through Stage 4 (17 years and counting) is a miracle.

We were just talking with family on Thanksgiving about this shit happening...my mother was returning to her car after grocery shopping and a woman approached her from behind telling her to give up her pocketbook. My mom is ok, but shook up a bit. My mom was holding on to the strap of the pocketbook and started screaming. The big bitch took out a fuckin' taser-like device and nicked my mother's wrist with it. My mom kept saying it was a taser but I just spoke to her and she said it was some device that made a 'buzzing' sound as if it was meant to shock someone.
Some guys ran over but the bitch got back in her car and drove off. One of the guys took pics of the car but they had a piece of paper over the license plate. Cops came, security came out of the store bragging about their new camera-security system in the parking lot. I highly doubt it will lead to anything, but hopefully there's something there. My sister was able to speak with the officer afterwards on the phone--he said "your mom is bad ass." lol An 81 year old woman fought off a big
younger woman. The cop was surprised that she never gave up the pocketbook.
Needless to say, she's all done with carrying a pocketbook. My sister and I told her that we'll be doing the grocery shopping for her from now on and she stubbornly refuses. I hate to take away any independence from her and she really doesn't want to order her groceries online..."you never know what you're getting." Thankfully it wasn't worse. She told me she really thought she was going to get shot--and yet she still hung on to her purse.

Within 5 mins of that happening some kid was trying to steal another woman's groceries from the store--he ended up getting caught and put in cuffs. This was at Stop & Shop at 3 in the afternoon, right in front of the store--my mom always parks as close as she can. These assholes are so brazen today.

That's terrible. Glad your mom is OK. She sounds like the generation that my mom came from. Tough old broads that know how to protect the purse.
