How about just stop entertaining the thought of marriage once you're past a certain age? Marriage is a young person's game. After 40 really?

I would agree. My mom buried 2 husbands in 6 years. It’s hard on people. I’ve seen the aftermath.

I feel like people for whatever reason need that validation of marriage at any age. I get that but humans really hate to be alone. We need that warm body and something to come home to and so we don't always make good decisions.

I think everyone should try marriage once but never more then twice. The pain of divorce is nothing any sane person would ever want to go thru more than that especially in your old age.

I get what you're saying, basically once you're out of the having kids age, marriage is different. But having a life partner is never a bad idea.

I think with Ed dying and his suffering with cancer Val realized they should have never divorced and she was still in love with him. I remember Cher crying like a baby at Sonnys funeral.

Me personally, I wouldn't get married again though. Long term relationship? Sure. But once kids are taken out of the equation, I don't see the point of marriage.
