Dave was in NYC Last Week

Hi everyone,

Saw this in the New York Times on Sunday. I figure if the Times reported it, it must be fact so I'm putting it in Main.

This article doesn't say anything about the reunion, and I guess it lends support to both of the major rumors going around now: (1) the album is in the can (thus Dave is chilling in New York); or (2) Launch.com's report that there are no current reunion plans (thus Dave is chilling in New York).

So, bottom line is that it doesn't tell us a whole lot, but I thought people would be interested in it so i'm posting it.

On a hot July night, the Bowery Ballroom
on the Lower East Side was packed with

1) The album is finished and is currently being mixed. Dave is taking a break before "coming out" with the announcement so he's partying it up in New York

or

2)

...nevermind on number two, let's just say it's the first scenario.

I think the recording of the album is done.
They must be in the process of editing and mastering, plus album artwork, press kits, etc.
So, some band members are off on a break, and we all know how much Dave loves to hang in NY, so that's just probably it.

How many people would give anything to see Dave come out during the Britney Spears performance at the MTV MVA'a, bend her little ass over his knee and spank her like the naughty little thing she knows she is? I think pop music would never be the same!

Well, this report basically tells us nothing about the reunion. It's not like Van Halen works at 5150, or anywhere, 24 hours a day for weeks on end. Dave being in New York isn't unusual whether he's working with VH right now or not.

Thanks for stating the obvious. As I said originally, this doesn't tell us much about the reunion, but I thought people would be interested in seeing it.
