Today Howard had Leslie West from MOUNTAIN on and he called him the best guitar player ever and said that even Eddie knows it.
Eddie's name came up briefly and Leslie said that Eddie is the nicest man (or something close to it).
Apparently Eddie sent him a brand new Wolfgang and a couple amps right around the time he announced he is being treated for cancer.
They talked about Ed only briefly before Howard quickly changed the subject.
Howard seems to goof on Ed alot. But if they go back on his show with either Dave, Sam or both you know for damn sure he will be kissing his ass.
BTW,
The new MOUNTAIN cd sounds great, might be worth checking out.

MOUNTAIN's a great band, with so much more to offer than just MISSISSIPI QUEEN. YASGUR'S FARM, NEVER IN MY LIFE, THIS WHEEL'S ON FIRE...tons of amazing cuts!

I love Howard, but he's a musical idiot, who thinks he knows something.
The other day they were playing "No More Tears" on the show and he thought that Zakk Wylde was the Ozzy guitarist who died.Webmaster

Howard is a total ass-kisser to whomever is in the guest seat at any given time.
He's also a really big hypocrite because he really doesn't care about anything but himself.

As long as this is a Howard thread...
I basically stopped listening to him after he turned into a hypocrite when he split with his wife. He was always on his guests to talk about their sex lives, and he'd talk big about what he'd do if he were single. Then he's single and he doesn't want to do anything, talk about anything, etc. I perfectly respect his desire not to talk because his kids might be listening, but he never respected that when it came to his guests. At that point, he stopped being the guy who'd say what everyone would want to say if they had the balls, and became just another fake radio asshole with a schtick. I'd rather listen to sports talk radio.

Typical Howard but that's why we love him on the radio. He does ass kiss a lot when he has a guest and then goofs on them out of earshot. Anyway, Eddie has brought a lot of jokes on to himself with his band decisions.

For me, it's pretty much the same old sctick. I'll rather listen to Drew and Mike or Sports talk..."Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard

" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!
But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!- MARD-The Movie

I stopped listening to Stern when Jackie left. I heard the tail-end of today's show and didn't chuckle once.
Gimme Opie & Anthony anyday..."You gotta do me a favor and let these (people) have a good time, alright? A little bit of (vulgar term for breast) and their hands in the air ain't gonna hurt anybody" - Nikki Sixx
"Van Halen is 'Get the fuck off the sidewalk if ya don't like our drivin' kinda music!" - David Lee Roth
"We get to the hotel, there's people partyin' in the parking lot, people gettin' down in the elevator, wow! I swear to God I had this one chick, this chick was poundin' on my door, she was kickin' and screamin' at my door 'til about 6:30 this morning. Finally, I just said, 'Fuck it!' and let her out of my room!" - David Lee Roth

EVH FANATIC - What happens is they start the show here live at 3 AM (I know who's up for that). Then at 6 AM, no matter where the broadcast is, they start it over from tape. So from 3-6, you can hear the actual live broadcast, then it replays after that. But for us, it seems live, all the Howard commercials, etc.
I didn't mind when Jackie first left, but Artie is really bugging me now. He is not funny, he talks too much, and the goddamn redneck voice he does is SO STUPID! So is that dumbass Bill Maher impression, I hate when they get on that and think it's hysterical. Anyways that is all.Webmaster

The local classic rock station in Toronto, Q107 took Howard off the air last winter, and for me local radio has sucked every since.

For me, it's pretty much the same old sctick. I'll rather listen to Drew and Mike or Sports talk...
He doesn't even PRETEND to understand sports anymore. He also doesn't know his music, although he SAYS he plays guitar......doubt it.
Drew just outshines him in every way.....Drew either needs somebody that is more into modern....or heck.....ANY culture, period, to challenge him, or else he needs someone else to be his "opposite", because Mike is pretty much a fat dumb retard.
His schtick has gone from clever practical jokes and funny commentary (around 1995/1996) to flat-out "I just wanna smoke dope, eat pizza, and act & talk like a retard. Not only do I not care what regular people like, I don't care what rock/sports fans like, heck...I don't care about what ANYONE likes, and to make it worse, I don't have any hobbies or interests other than smoking weed and eating pizza."
I just don't understand how people in Detroit or SE Michigan can like that guy. Drew is basically carrying the show.
Sorry for the rant.
As far as Howard goes, I agree that his commentary has changed. I need to watch his taped commentary and see the visuals to get any kind of kick out of it.
I can't imagine how stupid it would be to listen to Beetle Juice over the air, without seeing his drunken face.
