In addition to the county fair you may catch Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas in Vegas on May 17 and 18 at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Shouldn't be long before 50% of Van Halen is back on the radio. If you want a little peace, sometimes you got to fight
We got to walk through the darkness
Before we stand in the light.

VanEdge, YankeeRose, and Glenn, sorry if I'm kind of resurrecting an old subject, but to the person that seemed bent on bashing Sammy about playing a state fair, and being lumped in with the likes of "has-beens" REO Speedwagon and Huey Lewis, did you seem to forget that our beloved Van Halen played a state fair in 1998? They performed at the Del Mar Fair, held in Del Mar, California.
Oh, and lest you forget...David Lee Roth played the *same* fair Van Halen did, only he did it back in the early 90's. I know because I was supposed to go to that show, but missed out because the racetrack, where they hold the concerts was filled to capacity. And, unlike Van Halen's gig, which, like all live shows at the Del Mar Fair now, was priced as a separate event, Dave's show was *included* with the price of fair admission...about $6! He was there along with other artists such as Richard Marx. So, before you start off on trying to slam someone for being reduced to "has-been" status due to their choice of venue, try to get your *entire* facts straight.
Have a great day, 5150-style!"Are you the guy with the Van Halen tickets?"<br /><br />"I might be....."

VH also played the California Mid State Fair in Paso Robles, CA during the III tour as well.

Right. Forgot about that one. Thanks Brett.
I just fucking hate it when people come into places like this with a cocky, arrogant, wiseass, know-it-all attitude and have nothing better to do that to slam anyone from VH's history without having their own facts set straight.
Then again, it does make for some amusing reading, because then it shows just how many ignorant people there are out there in the world. "Are you the guy with the Van Halen tickets?"<br /><br />"I might be....."

Angry DLR or die fans normally like to contradict themselves, but we've learned to accept that.

What about the 48,000 people that turned out for the "Bumbershoot Festival"? That isn't as prestigious as "Monsters of Rock", is it? Wasn't DLR headlining the Minnesota St. Fair last summer too?
The point is...who really cares where ANY of them play? I'd go see DLR or Sammy or VH play a nursing home if it was nearby. Sheesh! Gimme a break people! Again, at least these guys are touring.
Big deal if it's a state fair. Let's see how the caddy remarks go when we stack Sammy's DVD up against Dave's...IF it ever gets released."Once the final BAN has been completed I will ban myself." -OLO, March 21, 2002

As for Dave's DVD, well...judging by the "review", if that's what you want to call it, from CDNow, it's sparked my interest. It sounds to me as though Dave is trying far too hard to be the Dave of old. Unless you're someone who was weaned on Van Halen and David Lee Roth, you're just not going to get the whole concept of Dave being Dave.
