Yeah, I just can't see how there's any possible way Dave didn't know about Ed's condition, but who knows? The part I like though is the "See ya down the road" line. Hopefully, he meant "See you and all the fans ON the road" and soooon ... [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

I find it hard to believe that he didn't know that Eddie had cancer... plus didn't Dave say he was working with the band in 2000 and isn't that when we found out about Ed's cancer ordeal??

I think that Dave probably thought Ed had had that pre-cancerous tumour thing removed last year and was ok. Clearly Ed wanted to keep this to himself which is natural and understandable. At least he knows how much support he has from fans. All the bullshyt aside, everyone loves this guy and wants to see him well [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

If Dave did'nt know about Eddie having cancer, then you have to wonder why not. If Dave was back in the loop then you know he would have known this for sometime. This just puts the iceing on the cake for me as to the question of Dave rejoining VH. I don't think it's gonna happen.

I'm getting the distinct impression theres not a 'loop' for Dave (or Sammy, or Fred the singing warthog) to be in right at the moment.

Excuse my cynicism but I think it highly unlikely that Dave didn't know. And I certainly doubt whether he was "stunned". If he was working with them in July- that was after we found out about Eddie's treatment program. Tracii Guns knew, Kip Winger knew, but Dave didn't know?

I don't doubt that Eddie has cancer, and I wish him all the best for a full and speedy recovery. But WTF is with this information overload - 4 statements in a week and Val all over radio yesterday. I kinda wish they would shut up [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Of course Dave knew -- as did nearly everyone who saw Eddie's cryptic statement last year. Reading between the lines, Dave is saying that even though DLR was good enough to collaborate with on "3 amazing tunes", Ed did not bother to clue him in directly. Basically, Dave is highlighting for us how dysfunctional this relationship really is.

We all truly hope Edward is healthy. But I'm getting the distinct impression that Ed is using this as a crutch or a sympathy ploy.

Q: Why after months of silence does Eddie choose to reveal more details on his health?

A: Dave released an update statement last week with actual information and applied some pressure to the 5150 boys. The VH response was universally dismissed by fans as more "no news is good news". This is a second attempt at PR.

Q: Ed looked pretty good on the NAMM video in January. Why no statement then?

A: Because the only reason we get information out of VH is when they need to play catch up on PR.

Q: Why the delay between when Ed received positive news ("Spring Break") and now?

A: Because the only reason we get information out of VH is when they need to play catch up on PR.

The bottom line -- as happy as we are to receive some clue these past few weeks, it's not a very good sign when Ed & DLR are communicating via press releases.

Eddie's statement came at around 7pm Pacific time, Dave's response was up by 2am. Just as well Dave was having a quiet night in surfing the net to find out the info don't you think? [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img]

My own reading between the lines suggests that each party had some advance warning of some of the statements we've read over the last week.
