...that the "partners" of gays and lesbians killed in the WTC tragedy receive the same benefits as the legit beneficiaries of those that were killed. Do you agree with this? I don't and I'll tell you why. How can these "couples" prove that they had a true dedicated relationship with each other and they weren't just bangin' each other or shackin' up just for convenience? If we give these benefits to gays and lesbians, don't the fiancees of the guys and gals killed deserve the same? Don't the seriously involved heterosexual boyfriends and girlfriends of those killed deserve it also? For me, this isn't a matter of religion or morality, it's a matter of practicality. Would a will prove such a relationship? How many have those?

Are you suggesting that perhaps gay marriage should be allowed because of situations like this, Brian? That'd seem to solve the issue at hand in the future.
Until then, what can they do? Their status isn't any different than unmarried couples. Like you said, it probably comes down to beneficiaries listed in their particular policies or wills.
[This is one of those subjects that might go better in Non-music, as it seems to be more of a gay-rights issue than something dealing with WTC/Pentagon stuff. We'll see how it developes.]

Well, I say forget that, for the reasons Brian stated above. That would be ridiculous. And no, I'm not saying they should recognize gay marriages. I guess I say basically, their screwed. That can actually happen in America. People can actually get screwed for what they believe in. This situation may be just that for some of them, and its tough, but that doesnt mean I think they should hand over money on some partners word that they were close. What, just because their fags means their honest? Is it known somewhere that fags dont lie and are better people than straight people? Nah, that would be taken advantage of just like it would be if fiance's etc. got the same benefit.
If the law says that we have to recognize gay marriages, then they get the benefit at the time of loss like any other person would. Until the law recognizes that, tough. They are not special exceptions just because that stupid bitch thinks they should be.sheepa latta peepah dabba looka foh a moopy

It's funny how old politics and bigotry slowly starts to creep into our united America, not even a month after the attack. Isn't that fickle?
Where'd all our sympathy and solidarity go to? We're not going to pay any money to help those individuals out (even though we'll dump billions into the airlines), so why debase them, and call the person who'd like to help them a bitch?
I suppose politics had to creep back in at some point.

I'm gonna side-step the topic at hand...
Just wanted to state that Killary Clinton is a bitch. Not for the proposition in question, but simply because she's just a goddamned bitch. That's all. LOL.
When I think of her, I'm reminded of Cartman's song in South Park : Bigger Longer and Uncut... You know, the one about Kyle's mom?

Hillary Clinton is a waste of skin, period.

Hillary is such a dumb cunt! We're at war and she is worrying about getting the fag vote. Disgusting.

A little off the subject but...
I wonder what those people that voted for Hillary thought when she disrespected the President during his speech by clapping half-heartedly and talking when the president was speaking. Think about it that women has 5 more years in our capital and I hope to god not a day more. Her actions were childish and totally unbecoming for an American let alone a U.S. Senator

I've read several nationally syndicated editorials that discuss Hillary's inappropriate behavior during the President's speech. She just gave potential political adversaries plenty of ammunition for future TV ads."Tardy? I don't feel tardy!"

Oh hell no! Absolutely not!
Until then, what can they do? Their status isn't any different than unmarried couples. Like you said, it probably comes down to beneficiaries listed in their particular policies or wills.
Beneficiaries listed in wills would still not be entitled to federal benefits intended for surviving family members. The union still has to be legal. Insurance policies would be valid though - you can basically list anyone you want as your benificiary.

I like the part about Hillary being a disrespectful bitch. The way she acted during our President's speech says it all. Too bad New York let her in. I bet NY citizens are chomping at the bit to get her out. Only Hillary would push for gay rights at a time like this. EVERYONE'S rights were affected by this tragedy no matter what you smell like. The only reason she's pushing this idea is because she's a lesbian herself and hasn't come out of the closet yet for fear of what her few supporters think. I can't stand to look at her or her so called living arrangement with her dickhead husband(if that's what you call it).

Because she is a bitch. And I dont agree with the money to the airlines either.
Hillary is a bitch precisely because she has taken this opportunity to further her creep into politics with an outright disregard to any current policy. That woman has never once been interested in solidarity or a united america and how dare you suggest that I have forgotten and that she is somehow a better american than me.
