Somebody brought up the subject of this interview a few months ago. Just for clarification, Dave and Sammy have not spoken to each other at any point since the 1996 fiasco (unless something has changed recently).

What the interview was referring to was the fact that each of these guys (Dave and Sammy) can now understand the other's position better now than they could before the 96 bullshit. Sammy was initially involved with the Dave bashing that was perpetuated by the Van Halen brothers because he believed Eddie's account of what happenned in 1985. When the brothers (and Danniels) shafted Sammy also, he got to see things from Dave's perspective, which was only reinforced by the outcome of the 96 mess. I would imagine that if there weren't a reunion in progress right now, Dave, Sammy, and Gary could probably all compare notes and come to the same conclusions in a lot of areas.

FORD, How was Dave shafted by "the brothers" in 1985 when he was the one that quit the greatest band on earth?? To be a movie star no less!!! Sounds to me like the only ones getting the shaft were Van Halen.

Dave hits it on the head at one point when he basically says to disregard everything but plug it in and play.....

Because Dave is an ass in his own way......and calling Sammy mediocre talent just shows who Dave really is.......
