I think any reunion is dead.

I have not posted here until recently, however, I have been lurking for a long time. I think VH is done for good, but I hope I am wrong. I don't ever see a reunion with Dave, just base on the three prior attempts. I don't see either Sammy or Gary, as the longer time goes by the more of a joke they become to some fans and the more they are forgotten by the mainsteam.

I would love to be wrong as I love the MIGHTY VH. But, I think they will most likey release past material in the form of a box set or a greatest hits CD.

I think we may see a fourth singer, but I don't think it will do any better than #3 did (by the way I love all three VH eras and would have liked another Gary album)

If they don't bring Mikey back and they do another album they shouldn't call band Van Halen Anymore. They should call it what it will be "The Eddie an Alex Show". Don't get me wrong I would buy it, I just don't think it would be VH without Mikey.

I think Ed should consider a Santana like album, as I think it coud be a success, However, nothing would be better than a reunion album. but I really don't see it happening ever.

PS. I was hoping for Sammy.

and as far as we know, vh has no plans to put out a box set or any unreleased tracks as such.

they'll be back.

and as far as a santana like album, rex over at vh yahoo groups says the album concept has been around for over 10 years. he said pete townshend was supposed to help coordinate the sessions. phill collins, patty smythe, and sass jordan are rumored to have been involved

Just MHO, as this is what I THINK, not what I know. I don't recall saying they are dead, I just don't think we will ever see a reunion. Look at their actions over the last 4 years, the silence is deafening.

The human ego is a very strange creature. As great as Eddie and Dave may be as individuals, they are currently nothing more than icons. Innactive at that. Sure they have money, but the one thing they don't have is something they once did. Absolute authority over the rock n roll buisiness. How does either get this back? The only way I can see is to do the reunion. They'd be in every paper, every magazene cover, etc.... We all know Dave would love that, I have a feeling Eddie would to. They'll be back.
