Good god, the "Musician's Corner" needs some life!!!

Let Pappa DIF tell you all a story about the good old days...

Back in the day, when I was a mini-Flame, I used to roam the Australian Outback from time to time.

(This was before I knew of Goo, because I'd have given him a, "Word up!" otherwise. )

In my travels one fine day, I stumbled across a long hollow piece of wood, so I picked it up and took a good look at it. It was straight and sturdy, so I decided to give it a blow.

(Hey... Your mother, for thinking what you're thinking. LOL.)

The sound it made was deep and beautiful. The tone was playful and comforting to my foreign ears.

A native Aboriginal man walked out of the bush and explained to me that what I was playing was a Didgeridoo (and being that I was fluent in Aboriginese I could understand him). He went on to explain that it was a native instrument often played by his people.

I offered to play for him, but he couldn't stay. We shook hands, and I watched him fade back into the bush.

Being as I was in the Australian Outback as a very young child, with no food, no shelter, and no clothes but what was on my back, it was only natural that I pulled out my trusty piece of cardboard (that I NEVER leave home without) and proceeded to break-dance like a good peep should when inspired by a new discovery.

While paying homage to the land 'Down Under' and giving spiritual props to the Didgeridoo gods through my break-dancing, I had the thought that somewhere, someday, I would have the opportunity to pass along my tale of how I discovered such a melodious instrument, in the hopes of spreading the good word of the Didgeridoo.

    Thus, I give you...

    The Didgeridoo Thread.

I have a didg and will one day have it in a song.

When I was playing in a band, I tried to convice my girlfriend to play it as an intro to a song, but she was too chicken!

I dig the part about Down being tired, hungry, thirsty, etc, and he pulls out his breakin' cardboard to celebrate. I mean what else COULD one do in such a pinch. Man to have seen the look of the bushman's faces when he was doing that. LOL.

And Homeunit, that would be cool to hear. Ya'll could start a new group. D-4! Out

You know, come to think of it, the dude DID give me a funny look.

It was quite the situation I found myself in. If it weren't for my newly found Didgeridoo, I don't know what would have become of me.

    Exactly, man.

The didgeridoo is a magical instrument of peace. One can not come away after having listened to it's soothing sounds and not ask, "Where have all the flowers gone?"

If only there were more didgeridoos and less tanks, the world would know PEACE! LOL.

Come on, people! It's not to late!

    Ah, the Digeridoo.

How I love my Didgeridoo. Let me count the ways...

Did you know that a primitive version of the Didgeridoo was the basis for the American Civil War?

Oh yes, my friends. The North had a Didgeridoo and the South Did not. The South was quite jealous and wanted the Didgeridoo for itself.

The North would not hand it over, feeling that it was its own. It offered to play Didgeridoo concerts, but the South would have none of that.

    Thus began the Civil War.

(More later... For now, talk amongst yourselves about the tragic effect that greed had over the South... )

Hmmm... Surprising... No one takes "The Didgeridoo Thread" seriously.

I'll have you uncultured peeps know that the Didgeridoo was the first instrument played on the moon in July of 1969.

The Didgeridoo also stopped "The Great Corn Famine" of Iowa, circa 1982.

You people... You need to be taught a lesson as to the ways of the Didgeridoo...

Okay, hang on a minute. I'll admit, it took me two weeks to read this thread, so there may be some kind of statute of limitations. But isn't there a conflict of interest between the break-dancing and the patented Riverdance Jig???

Oh, none at all, my friend.

See, I have the Patented Riverdance Jig, but I have to "keep it real" as they say, with the break-dancing.

    I don't have a patent on break-dancing, though.

    I certainly wish I did.

Hey now... Break-dancing set to the Didgeridoo? It could happen...

Actually, Glenn, I forgot about :

Down In Flames' Patented Breakin' II - Electric Boogaloo Break Dance.

    (DIF 2000)

Being that I have so many patents, you can understand how one could slip my mind...
