Sammy Speaks About DLR Reunion Again..

According to the Rock News page on WWW.WLUP.COM which is a rock station here in Chicago, Sammy has stated that the boys with DLR have recorded at least four songs together so far. However, fighting continues to delay ongoing production.

Yeah, the "four songs and friction" line has been attributed to Sammy in several places. Also that they are working on a DLR era box set.

I don't know why Sam keeps on bringing this thing up (Dave and VH fighting again, only four songs recorded, box set coming...)

Why have a box set at this time???? This is THE worst time to do something like that. It suggests that the band is finished.

The band needs to have a new album and tour with Dave to sustain or get back any noteriety they once had.

Last week Sammy said DLR was out, now he says they are fighting and there are delays. Sammy doesn't know what is going on I would guess.

Unless they put live shows in, do they really have enough unreleased stuff to put out a boxset considering the remasters were just released? Also someone would have to tell Sammy since he presumably owns the publishing rights on unreleased Van Hagar tunes.

I'm not trying to Sammy-bash or anything but, he just needs to shut the fuck up about VH. He's a great artist and I love his work, solo and with VH, but...he's not in the band anymore. Just shut up Sammy and concentrate on your own shit!! I mean, I love ya man but, all your giving us anyway is just more bullshit rumors. I think we have enough of them!

If all this is true about the infighting(And knowing a little a bit about these guys, it probably is), I'm not too happy about the prospect of seeing them live. I know it's what we've all been waiting for and all; but in the back of my mind I'll think that they're just doing it for the money and hating every minute of it.

And that sucks!

I agree Mike5150. If serious infighting among the group IS true (and we do not know if it is) then WHAT would be the point of touring together, but only for the money! And that's no good reason in my book.
Why go on hte road with people you are ALWAYS fighting with?

You do realize that "news" places re-report old stories slightly changing the wording to keep from having to quote someone else.

Case in point.

This is an example of how the "wire service" works. Old news recycled by another source.

I don't understand why everyone is getting down on Sammy, It's not like he is calling a press conference to discuss what he knows about VanHalen.
It's that he repeatedly is ASKED by the people interviewing him. I don't think he spends much time thinking about VanHalen but When he is asked about the current situation He simply responds with what he has heard.

Give the guy a break.

I know Sammy is probably just repeating things that he has heard, but I remember him passing on info before that didn't end up happening, such as Mike leaving the band during the recording of III. Let's just keep the faith, and everything'll be alright.

I agree that obviously people hound Sammy for VH info, but the guy ain't in the band anymore. He should just take the high road, and say like EVERYONE else, "I really don't know." I don't believe he has any more idea than the rest of us, he just has some people feeding him stories, like us.
