Dave in Las Vegas.....

Went to Dave's show in Las Vegas on July 3rd.

The reviews at the www.vhnd.com cover most of what I need to say, but I thought I would add a couple of comments.

Dave did come on late. He was supposed to come on about 8:00pm and didn't hit to stage until 8:40 or so. Dave sounded pretty good. He can't hit the high notes anymore and does a lot mumbling or changes the songs up a bit for parts he can't sing anymore. Dave looks like he has been working out a lot lately.

He did this cool intro for "Ice Cream Man" with his acoustic and talking smack. Talked shit about some guy's girlfriend after someone threw beer on him. Masturbated with his J.D. bottle (which in my opinion is getting really old). Was only taking small sips from the bottle when he wasn't pouring it on himself or the audience. Didn't do a whole lot of talking outside of his usual stage raps. "Look at all the people here tonight" was his opener.
Said something about a girl's shit probably tasting like sugar.

Didn't really care for his first outfit....bright lime-green jumpsuit. I thought that color was gone with the 80's. Maybe Dave and Sam know something I don't??
Changed into some green baggy pants halfway through the show, which was funny watching him pull them up almost to his armpits so he could do his kicks.

Overall, the vibe was cool. The crowd was into it. The band was good, although Van Halen songs really need Michael's vocals to go with it, otherwise they don't quite sound right. Dave was in fine form. Always with that shit-eating grin on his face that just makes me laugh and enjoy the show even more. He just always looks like he is having a blast playing live.

Funny sidebar.......Sunset Station in Vegas is where the new 'Cabo Wabo Cantina' will be. At the show they were serving Cabo Wabo tequila and a beer called "Cabo" beer, which I think was just Sunset's micro-beer. I asked one of the servers if Dave would be pissed if he found out what they were serving, she just laughed and said "Not if he doesn't find out, so don't him!". [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

It's quite obvious to most of us that rxman was exaggerating slightly to make a point. No reason to have a stroke over it or resort to name calling.

the comments irked me a little because rx said overall it was a good show and he enjoyed it but,he was realistic about some aspects of the show he didnt like . big deal, he was honest and i respect that. i wonder if someone said dave looked a little chunky if they d freak out and say "dude shut up ! dave is still sexy and his ripped abs kick ass, he is still the sexiest man alive !"

DLR = VH - Dude, chill the fuck out. I saw what I saw. I commented on it. I don't think I was being negative at all. I had a blast, Dave was good, but he's not 22 anymore and I just pointed out what I heard and saw. Same thing would happen if I went to a Sammy show.
