I never liked this instrumental. It sounds dark and dated -- like something the Edgar Winters Group would do. I usually skip it. Does anybody know where the name came from?

SAITP isn't one of my favorite songs but it's a good intro to One Foot Out The Door. I have no clue where the title came from.

A couple of years ago away at college I remember one night where we had a keg set up in the living room of a friend's apartment and we picked a girl up to do a keg stand.
First mistake is that we didn't realize the ceiling wasn't high enough and her legs went right into the ceiling fan. Second mistake is that we tried it again sideways and she was puking in the bathroom all night. The noises she was making sounded exactly like the beginning to "Sunday Afternoon in the Park" - it's basically just a throwup track, damn I meant throwaway track and everytime I hear it I'm reminded of that girl yacking.

Very creep-sounding tune. I'm surprised it hasn't made it's way onto some horror film soundtracks.

I love it. Like others have said, it's a great intro for 'OFOTD' & it has that dark, spooky feelin'. Plus the drums sound pretty cool in it.
I thought it was great when Mikey played it in his solo a few years back.

I like the dark vibe, and it goes very well before OFOTD.
I am awesome

I could swear I remember reading once that it was either written for Valerie (gee, thanks ) or that she came up with the title. Don't quote me on either, just something I recall reading.
BTW, whenever I listen to Fair Warning in the car, that song seems to last for 10 minutes.

It's not one of my favorites; it's a 'skipper' for me much of the time, but mostly because I think "One Foot Out The Door" is filler. Yeah yeah, call it blasphemy, but I don't care for it. Having it segue into it just makes me shut it off before it gets that far.
As for the name, it's a play on the name from one of those lavish Broadway musical's songs. I'm not SURE which one (Porgy and Bess, perhaps), but I think it was something like "Saturday Afternoon in the Park With George" or some reasonable facsimile. So, the name itself is a poke at that. The name did not just come out of nowhere. And if you think about it, the dark, sinister sound of it is FAR from being a 'walk in the park', which would be (stereotypically) a bright, happy, peaceful, joyful thing to experience, while the VH tune is quite the opposite.Don't bark at me...I didn't name ya.

I think it's an awesome tune! I think the dark vibe fits in perfectly with the darkness of the Fair Warning album. Plus I instantly liked it just b/c it was so different from their previous instrumentals.
'Dave, how will I know that I've made it?' I tell 'em, 'When you can spell 'subpoena' without thinking about it, you made it'

When the main riff starts halfway through it kind of sounds like Ain't talkin' bout love. Am I alone here?
