I think Van Halen II and Diver Down were the most in need of remastering and therefore sound the best. I think 1984 sounds the least improved of any of them, although I've heard people say it's their favorite.

I personally don't think that VH1 should have been remastered. I have the 24-karat gold disc of it and it sounds somewhat better than the regular silver CD. If they wanted 6, 5150 or OU812 should have been included really.

The only one I've got so far is Fair Warning, and it sounds awesome. Can't believe that album got even better!

Diver Down sounded rematkably better, the production was very thin on the original. This was their best remaster effort!

I think they all sound better. Obviously due to technology advancement, I rank VH 1 the most improved and 1984 the least improved. I would recommend buying them all anyway.

I Bought all of the remasters except Diver Down ( I didnt feel like wasting my money twice). The best in my opinion was VHII. The remastering breathed some new life into the music of VHII. Im hoping 0u812 will get the same treatment. 3

I would be very suprised to see any of the hagar-era albums remastered, as they were all released after CD became a popular format, and were mastered properly to start with, all the roth era ones were simply rushed onto cd to capitalise on new back sales of cds. OU812 needs remixing, not remastering.

As much as I agree that OU812 would benefit from remixing, I hope they never do that. It's part of history now, and should be left the way it is.
Anyway, VH should be concentrating on that box set before they worry about doing any more remastering.
