It was the one place I could go to if I got fucked around by a girlfriend, or anyone else, for that matter. It still is. If there’s something I can’t deal with, I can just spend hours playing. It’s a God-given gift – I certainly don’t know where the ideas come from. They’re obviously given to you, and you have to keep your fingers moving and your mind quiet. I try my best to not think about thinking, so I can just let it flow. Because when I start thinking, forget it. <br />So....why he isn't playing guitar ? ? ?

Yngwie is a BIG Eddie fan, actually he wanted to jam with him someday, and he played on the cover of "Light up th Sky" for the Little Guitars tribute album.
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone
"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth
WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

You know, the size of Yngwie's body may have finally caught up to his ego.

Good ole' Yngwie. Not exactly known as "mister personality" but damn he can play his ass off when he is on!
He is a huge VH head and always gives his respect to the King.
I have actually seen that swedish meatball quite a bit..lol.. I saw him at a Blockbuster Video. he was crawling out of his Ferrari and he was dressed up like a Long John Silver's waiter!
He stays down here in Miami and lives pretty close to the legendary Criteria Studios up in North Miami. Well, the studio now has a different name but it was Criteria and always will be in my book. That studio is badass and so many legends have recorded there. Clapton's "Layla" sessions with Duanne Allman where done there! Nuff said..
Anyways, my buddy is a huge Yngwie fan. He even has one of his sweet yngwie model fender strats with the scalloped neck. He actually went to Yngwie's house and knocked on the door but Yngwie wasnt home. But Yngwie's father-in-law was and he told my homeboy to "leeve or I veel cawl zee poleez"..
Freakin gestapo.
I told my buddy he shoulda asked if the "world's greatest guitar player is in?" Then when they answered "no" he shoulda said "Oh, well, when will Mr. Van Halen be back?".. hehe
Ynwgie is amazing but I wonder how he can play so well with his foot constantly stuck in his mouth?

Hey,
I actually had the pleasure of meeting Yngwie at the Sawgrass mall in Florida in a Specs record store. He was with his fiance' and i knew him when i saw him. I didnt want to bug him, but i waited until he was alone and figured i should take the opportunity, especially since i was only visiting Florida for a few days. Believe it or not, the fact is that he was very nice and gracious....yes, gracious when we spoke. I thanked him for the music he's given and for the inspiration he also has given me. We spoke about his upcoming records and the really funny thing was that the whole time we were standing in the "classical" music section shootin' the shit. Very surreal, ya know? Anyway, i know that people like to poke fun at him for being somewhat burly, but the fact is that he's a fantastic guitarist. With the exception of EVH, he's the most influential and copied guy in rock guitar. And, like Eddie and HIS copycats, Yngwie stands far above all of his clones. He's a perfectionist....he's got his own vision, and he doesnt compromise. some call him arrogant, and maybe he can be.....but he was cool as shit to me, and i'll never forget that. He's truly gifted and is very passionate about his music....i'll always be a fan....and i'll always rate him high in my book....3rd only to EVH and Randy Rhoads. Later."SIMPLY SAID....GOD IS ED!!!!"

Hey, I never deny his talents. As I said, when Yngwie is on he is as scary as it gets.
But unfortunately he spent many years badmouthing just about every damn guitarist under the sun!!
I think youth, fame, ego & drugs all played a role in that.
When he got his shit together I think he realized what he had done and has been on better behavior. Plus I know a guy who did guitar work for him at a store called Ace Music back in the day in Miami as well. Yngwie was not exactly easy to get along with to put it mildly but we all have our days. Plus the revolving door of musicians he works with proves that cuz he seems to have a new band and singer every 2 weeks! People think VH had it rough.
Yngwie is difficult but its nice to see he was cool to you. He is a very passionate musician and I actually rate him over Randy for his neo-classical work. Yngwie was a classical master at a young age. Randy knew some things but overall he wasnt close to Ynwgie's mastery of theory and classical styles. I dont recall Randy even attempting to play Pagannini, while I seen Ynwgie do the 5th caprice on guitar!
That right there makes you piss yourself

As far as I know it’s just aesthetic but just not sure why they’d make that change. Then again Fender is a big corporation so they probably had some focus group that said square routes offer better...
