Went out to see VH Tribute band Diver Down outside of Boston last night. Gary got up and did ATBL. He got the crowd into it. Where the fuck are all the VH fans around here? The place was empty, but they put on a great show.
Off topic:
Friday night Dave should have played something other than Mean Street, I think he looked lost in the middle part because usually he is spewing JD on some chick. NBC wouldn't go for that I guess.
The interview was like watching Hulk Hogan on Acid. I want Dave back in VH, but I wonder what Ed and Al were thinking when they saw it.?????

First, Gary is on stage with Sammy at Great Woods, then on stage with Sammy and Mike in NY, now Gary is on stage with a VH tribute band. One thing for sure, he certainly loves the music he sang for a year.

There is no east coast punks. There's Diver Down, and then there are the Atomic Punks. The only VH tribute band that matters.

I can't beleive that people are arguing about the "best" tribute band now...trash-talking a tribute band is pretty low and boring...just be thankful that there are bands that still play VH. Thumbs up to Cherone for teaming up with Hagar etc... at least Cherone is working.....Come on Eddie and Alex: I thought we were gonna hear from you soon?
Just go for it!

TT,
I don't know about you, but if I were a former lead singer of the greatest rock band in US history, I wouldn't get up on stage with a bunch of scrubs. Hell, I QUIT a Zeppelin tribute band that I STARTED because the rest of the band wasn't up to snuff, and I really love Zeppelin.
I don't think even Gary is stupid enough to get onstage with some half-ass cover band for the sheer love of the tunes.
And Brew Crew...
LOL! Dude you're balls on. I've seen at least 10 tributes to a variety of rock bands, and a tribute band has one clear goal: be able to replicate the sound & look of another band. I've seen some great tributes, and I've seen some sh*t tributes. The great thing about a great tribute is that they don't have to be better than any other tribute - they just have to leave the audience convinced that they can convey the sound & look of the band they're paying tribute to...
As a former member of a tribute band, I didn't care nearly as much about whether my tribute was better than another tribute as I did about whether the people that took the time to see my band were convinced that my tribute conveyed the sound & look of the band being paid tribute.

The Real Deal
PS: And just because my current band does old VH better than any other band in the SF Bay Area, that doesn't make me a hypocrite (because we're not a tribute...)
The Real Deal does old VH better than any other band in the SF Bay Area. Hearing is believing...

Whoa there. I didn't call Diver Down an East Coast version of the Atomic Punks. I didn't make that comparison. I did my best to seperate the two bands and for good reason.
Hey, I'm just happy that there are musicians out there willing to pay tribute to the greatest rock band ever!! Webmaster/Graphic Artist

Yeah, but it wasn't Dave but the lawyers that got in the way, according to Eddie. Damn lawyers!"I'm the opposite of Bill Cosby. Diamond Dave always gets your approval." (DLR)

Guys, relax, these are tribute bands for pete's sake. I don't think TT was attacking the entire VH tribute band universe. Man we just get bent about anything now.

Gotta say, the in season tourney has teams playing hard in November and December, and it's nice to see the Lakers in the "final four," even though it ain't real because Denver didn't care about it. ...
