.....maybe it's just me...are they the same riff...also panama....luv the way the guy works somthing out on keyboard , then plays it on the guitar ....one of ed's best qualities

I can see where you're coming from. The accents and rhythms of HAIL and Jump resemble each other during the refrain a little bit. Emphasis on a little bit.

.....now your really gonna think i'm on crack....PANAMA & JUMP...maybe it's just the majors....but keep in mind , ed worked things on the keys , then played on gtr...& vice-versa

Again it's the rhythm more than the chords. I agree, the rhythms sound alike in the refrain of Jump and the opening riff of Panama.
