I was watching Pop up music the other day, and "We are the World" was one of the featured videos. They listed all those celebs at the time who turned down singing on the song. On it , it mentioned that Dave's manager hung up on Qunicy Jones. I was wondering, should Dave have done it. I mean he just came off of California Girls, and Just a Gigolo, not necessarily someone you would want to associate with that type of song (but then again, Cyndi Lauper did it). But it was a good cause, and Dave's star power could have probably made some rock fans give it more of a chance. What do you think?

It's one of the worst songs ever written. So...no.

SHOULD he have??? Key word being 'should'. When it comes to charity work, I've always been of the mind that it's a personal decision. One shouldn't feel obligated to, nor feel bad if they don't participate. I prefer an artist to remain apolitical, but when it comes to big causes, it's understandable. I wouldn't have thought any less of Dave had he taken part, but I don't feel he was obligated to at all.

Well, if he did, I would have said kool, at least DLR is on this song, but it was a weak song, and I just don't see Dave doing a highly publicized chairty type event that......especially singing that song. He has done some stuff, but nothing that large scale that I can recall...

Hey, do you remember who else turned it down? I mean who was on it anyway? At least they got Willie on it, he's kool. hmmmm Kenny Rodgers, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson????

Dave would have sounded a hell of a lot better than Bob Dylan. When was the last time anybody understood a word he sang?

    Give me a fucking break!

If anything, Edward should have supplied some guitar tracks.....Dave singing with that all star lineup? What a joke! The guy is a showman, not a musician. One more thing, his giant ego wouldn't have been "checked at the door."

Wow, I never knew this would touch a nerve. I just thought it was funny that Qunicy Jones even called Dave. Thats like inviting Ted Nugent to a Vegetarian Convention. Dave has done chairty, without large scale publicity (Ashley Abernathy). I thought it was funny, not only would it make Dave fans go "HUh?" but also i dont know if the Just a Gigolo Dave could sing lyriucs like that.

I just can't picture Dave standing with all those other artists singing that song.
