That's interesting, I seem to recall VanEdge talking about how Warner Brothers did a bad job on the sound of this DVD. I don't own it, so I haven't heard it. I don't actually own the VHS of it either, though I've seen it several times. Like that review said, I didn't care for the clothing changes that made it seem pasted together.

I also recall someone saying that they'd heard that a couple of the songs on this video weren't actually recorded at the shows, they were recorded at the sound checks. And in those tunes on the video, they never focus on the band playing or singing, thereby giving the illusion that the songs were actually being played live at the filming.

I really doubt that is true.

I am disapointed that there is no extra's in it, I thought that you would be able to switch camera angles on it, I heard you could do that with other DVD concerts.

    I don't have a DVD player anyway.

It says that RHRN was the first live release of the band on CD and VHS. Nope! What about LWAN?!

And I believe those songs said to have been done at soundcheck were Man On A Mission and In 'N Out. I think When It's Love is the only real live song on that vid. That and Pouncake.

LWAN isn't available on CD other than on bootlegs. Unless you meant DVD, but it's not available on that either.

Even that on the live video and cd credits it says that this was recorded on the carnal knowledge tour,it's no secret that the video and most of what's on the cd was recorded in Fresno CA. in may'92
I do remember reading an interveiw with EDDIE about the time of release and he stated that the recording of the live track on the video was taken from the second night because they had all kinds of technical fuck-ups with his sound on the first night.
But all the video footage was combined hence the tendencey to feel like you're not watching a real live video..
I always hated the part during ed's solo when the film goes b/w and back to color and that fucked up split screen thing...

Yeah, the Carnal Knowledge tour was in '92, so it's the same thing.

I thought it was LWAN that was messed up the first night.

Got the DVD and also have it on VHS .

Like the DVD better . What would really be cool is to have WB release LWAN on DVD .

What would be cooler is a box set with their whole back catalog of videos that were made. WB vids, the Italian promos, and well, just ALL videos EVER made by VH!

Well the thing is,the building in Fresno that they played in power wise couldn't handle Van Halen's rig plus the video set-up plus the mobile recording unit,so they actually had to run a cable into the building next door to compensate for the lack of power on the first night...
A lot of live videos are done this way...the band picks a city where they are going to play mutiple nights..film both or all of the nights, then use the suondtrack from the best of thoses nights.

In the case of RHRN,it twas the 2nd night..

LWAN had similar problems because of the same reasons..except that they also had video problems c/o MTV, so they used the 2nd night fot the whole thing...
