Something to Wet our appetites!

Just thought I would write regarding my Christmas 2000 wish list. Its something i'm sure all VH fans would certainly consider buying. Since we haven't got any official news of any new material, (sure the remasters are nice, but they will not satisfy my appetite!!!!)How about a kick ass video with all sorts of behind the scenes stuff, ie.....interviews, soundchecks, rare performances, even video footage from 5150. It could possibly include some of the old videos and those never seen or banned from MTV,("Once" is a good example). I would just love to see footage of the Boys from like 1982 jamming on Dazed and Confused during soundcheck.....This thing probably would be a nightmare to put together considering all the legal bullshit. What do you folks think?...just a morsel or a carrot to hold us over till the mighty VH returns!!!

Well, it's not my dream box set, but I'd take it.

Frankly it makes no sense to me why Van Halen would have released their Best Of video without including some real gems on it. Most fans probably already had most of those videos on tape anyway, so give us something rare.

that best of video tape was like an insult to us fans.
everybody is always saying "you can't forget this part of Vh history" or you can't forget that part, etc.
regarding the live shows

well that video tape pretty much made ya believe they made one album with dave 1984.

i know a lotta of the early videos weren't of the pro-sort or were just live footage taped for the midnight special or whatever
but come on
no "pretty woman"? "so this is love"? "Dance the night away"? not even those hysterical Whisky videos from VH1?

when Dave was in the band they were know to be one of the best live bands around and some of those early videos help show why.

i just still cant belive they pulled that on us early fans.

agreed, however, it is something that van halen fans have had to stomach..it is complete bullshit that there never appears to be material offered to the fans other than the offical album releases...and when they do release stuff, it is done so half heartly. i mean, the best of video package was basically an insult to the legions of van halen fans out there. when they released the dvd it had one extra video clip on it...big f**king deal...come on fellas!!!!! where is the good stuff. what about this for an idea......a behind the scenes of the making of the next album dvd...something along the lines of the pump (aerosmith) video.....i am, and always will be, regardless of who the singer is, a fan of the mightest band in the land, but sometimes.............it can be very frustrating to be a fan of this band.

Well considering the state of the band the last few years it doesn't surprise me that we're not treated to additional footage and such...

Think about it...when BOV1 came out...the band was not with a singer......

So obviously, when the video came out, they had nothing to "lead on" to.....

Warner Bros. were doing the same thing that Brad is doing with the VH Official Page....that's why you don't see ANY Roth, Hagar or Cherone photos ANYWHERE!!!!!

The WB bunch are smart in this matter, either to protect their integrity or protect the worst kept secret in rock'n'roll today

Just my opinion....yada...yada...yada....

Maybe if they have Roth back and have a successfull tour...they can make a large compilation DVD like Metallica has done...

That would be wicked......

But the thing that sucks is that WB will completely ignore any Hagar stuff....it's a shame...
