Does anybody recall an interview with DLR where he wasn't overloading everything with his one-liners and jokes and was actual personable? Now I'm not saying that I don't like the one-liners and jokes, don't get me wrong.
I remember one interview that he gave on the work that his band put into Skyscraper and how he was so much more meticulous with this album than any other he had ever recorded. It was a great interview, I think one of my all time favs with Diamond Dave. You can lead a horse to water, but that still won't make him a duck!

yeah, I can. The interview he gave from the eat 'em and smile stage, probably a video shoot.
It was right after the first split with VH and it was his side of the story, GREAT fuckin interview, very serious, no b.s. and very HONEST, which I think he has always been, to his credit.
I wish some of the OTHER guys from that band were as honest...... "If I took you to the river, well I bet you'd swim upstream.."<br /> -JL<br /> L.O.C.<br /> -2003-

Yeah, they should take some of the interviews with "Diamond Dave" and re-release them as anti-drug ads.

I'm not sure if it's the one you are thinking of but I remember an MTV interview where he sniffed up a line through a rolled up dollar bill and then tried to be all serious about his thoughts on recently parting with Steve Vai. It was the same interview where he started running around the studio whapping himself in the ass with a fly swatter and rubbing up against a chair. It was very surreal to say the least. I remember saying to myself "Why is this guy throwing things and ranting about Little House on the Prarie and how he would do a Prime Time special with Nellie Olson as co-host??"
Is this the same one?

You mean an interview where he sold out his personality and acted like a boring stiff?
No, I can't think of one.

I think what he's asking is was there an interview Roth ever did that he didn't think that the spot he was standing on at the time wasn't the center of the universe.
