If anyone saw last nights VH1 movie on Def Leppard, has to agree with me that was truely a waste of two hours, and I was little embarassed to be a Def Lep fan watching it, it was so bad. I'm hard pressed to know was the public wanting a movie on the history of Def Leppard? I though I was watching a remake to Spinal Tap, the guy playing Steve Clark looked like Davis St. Hubbins for christ sakes. Also, Mutt Lange portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall? God he must be hurting for work.
Neverthless, I was thinking watching that putrid movie, if someone put together a movie on Van Halen, which would probably have to be a mini-series anyway, who would be cast in the starring roles, lets get your opinions
Eddie Van Halen - ? Always though Malcom Young from Ac/Dc looked like Ed.
Alex Van Halen - ? No idea
Michael Anthony - Whomever is cast here, this role is not given one line, slient partner.
David Lee Roth - ? I think Bret Michaels, should be a decent choice.
Sammy Hagar - ? Having a hard time on this one
Valerie - Since she is an actress, she can portray herself
Ted Templeman - ?
Waldo - ?
Ray Daniels - The devil here, give it to Jon Lovitz
Thoughts?

I take it your not a fan of def leppard.
I enoyed the movie, except it ended 5 years
before steve clark even dies. Since I met them in Houston way back with Pete Willis, I kind of enjoyed the early years stuff.I SURVIVED TEXAS LINKERS WEEKEND I, II, III, IV and VI and VII.barely made it to VIII time to slow down

Dude I love Def Leppard, but though the movie was so cheesey, other than Rick Allen losing his arm, it is your typical rock band movie. It could have been the story of The Who for all we know.

I caught the last few minutes of it, and could tell right away these guys didn't do their homework.
They were playing, "Pour Some Sugar on Me" supposedly live on the Hysteria tour. Fine--except for the fact that the stage was situated at the end of the arena. Anybody who saw Lep on that tour knows they played in the round.
It actually looked like the stage setup from the Pyromania tour, which of course, preceded the Hysteria tour. And what was with that tiny stage anyway? I've seen toilet stalls bigger than that.
I know, picky, picky. But if these nimrods are going to spend a few million making a movie, I wish they would do it right.

ok it was cheesy, but very nostalgic for an old fart like me.
They did miss some good story lines and the sets were very cheap.
There is a great story about how Ricks first show back had a seconds drummer helping him out. but the guy was late and Rick was doing so good, that guy said "screw it - he doesn't need me out there"
but what can you do with only two hours, it would take a week long mini series to get the VH story toldI SURVIVED TEXAS LINKERS WEEKEND I, II, III, IV and VI and VII.barely made it to VIII time to slow down

Most made for TV movies about bands usually suck so I wouldn't really want to see a VH movie done. But if they did I agree that they definitely should make it like a week-long series.

It wasn't a total waste of 2 hours on my part. And yes, they took some liberties with the storyline - hell, who doesn't when they make movies?
The only problem with a VH movie is it would either have to be 4 hours long and end sometime around 1995 or only cover the period of one singer. I think something covering around 1984-1986 and 1996 would make for an interesting story."Just once I'd like to do the right thing and not get punished for it."

She's hot. Young Joe is also one of this generations finer actors. The lad takes chances with his roles. Very Depp like, but with years of comic timing learned on 3rd Rock.
Good pairing LL.
