Good News?

I, for one, think it's a good sign that www.van-halen.com now has its "pleasure dome" forum. maybe it is a small sign that things are headed in the right direction. Kinda strange that it makes its debut on DLR's b-day? Hmmmmmmmm......

the assumption that dave has the power to "allow" anything lends credence to his legendary ego.

it shouldn't be a matter of him giving permission for anything. band business should be decided by the band.

the website, no matter how much we wish, seems to have very little band involvement.

i'm sure there are a lot of things they okay or nix, but the last person to run the vh website is dave - he's not even officially in the band, and he still has his own site running...

I think it's actually a pretty good name. I can't think of many DLR era songs that would have made a good name for discussion forums; maybe House of Pain.

I don't think you can read too much into the name, though I do think the arrival of the forums are a positive sign that the band is alive and well, and thinking of their next move. It's hard to imagine that they'd start up a discussion forum if they were quitting or not planning on releasing anything for another year.

Yeah that'd be a great name but how many people would freak out and start saying "Oh no! "House of Pain"! This must mean something negative. That must mean Dave's must be out of the band. Oh No!!!"

I think everybody is starting to read into things a little too much. I doubt Dave's birthday had anything to do with it at all. As VanEdge said, the last person to have any involvement at this point in time would be Dave. Maybe the powers that be are giving us a bit of a hint by opening a forum (that will definately discuss Dave issues) on Dave's birthday. But I doubt it.

Pleasure Dome isn't a Sammy track, really. It was an instrumental, played on by Eddie, Al, and Mike. No Sammy.
