Does anybody here ultimately care if VH reclaims their former glory? Many seem to be preoccupied with VH being a main force in the industry again or taking back their "rightful" place as the kings of rock'n'roll. To tell the truth, I really don't care if they gain new fans or if MTV sees the wrongs they have done to VH, blah...blah...blah...

All I want is some new music. I'm very selfish in that I don't care who embraces them, because I will love whatever they do. I guess sales will determine a lot about their future, but I can't say I'm in bunches over the fact that "VH is going to kick everyone's butts again, the world is in for a treat, etc..." I'm just wanting some new music for myself and those that are truly VH fans and love this group for what their music means to us.

    Can I have an amen?

    Amen from me.

I agree, I'm skeptical of just how much of an overall impact Van Halen can make on the music scene. But all I care about is the quality of their next project, not how it is received, or by whom.

Yeah I pretty much agree. I never listen to radio or watch MTV or pay attention to the rock media. They aren't my personal friends just a band I really dig.

I would like to see it big though - purely because playing to packed houses rather than half-filled halls is more fun for everyone involved. And low album sales are more likely to lead quickly to another split.

Except if you are the one with the shitty seats I get what you are saying though. I also could not care less if the general public cares. Give me some tunes and good seats at a show and I am happy. But,unfortunately it will be hard toget good seats because it is going to be huge.

True - seats are going to expensive as it is even before the decent ones go straight to the scalpers. Ideally I'd like to see them in packed 1000-2000 capacity clubs with no reserved seating. That won't happen though obviously.

I still think I'd rather have a crappy seat in a full arena than a decent one in a 1/2 empty one.

All that matters to me is that I get to see VH w/ Dave again and that they put out some new music.

I dont really expect much of the MTV crowd to understand VH or there music, I do think new VH will get alot of air play on ROCK radio stations around the world.

As far as VH re-taking there place at the helm of rock and roll, well... thats pretty subjective, it depends on what type of rock music you like. I do expect them to be a huge draw this summer.

Yeah, I'd LIKE for them to be the driving force in music for another decade, but that little realistic voice in the back of my head is telling me the best we probably can hope for is for the band to be popular, but not the "in" thing.

All I care about is that the music is something I enjoy, and that I get a chance to see them on tour. If the rest of the world wants to come along, that's fine by me. But it'll be easier for me to get a ticket if they don't
