this same "dave would say so theory" is everyone's biggest hope all over the threads.

it is nothing- silence is not confirmation.

so what if there are rumors on the internet? why should dave care?
the biggest difference between now and in 96 when dave announced "it is over " was that at the time there was a a lot of plubicity about his reunion in the legitemate press and they had made appearances together, in short- there was a reunion to end and dave announced it.

now- only a bunch of fan-sites take the reunion stories seriously- every " announcementdate"has come and gone- every bit of info about the reunion has been contradictory. are they recording in indy? new york? depends on who and when you ask.

suppose for a moment that the reunion did not happen and it is all made up. to the average fan rumors are rumors and only paranoid freaks like us worry about it. how would it look in the general public if, dave and vh stopped what they were doing every five minute to confirm or deny this or that?
it would look like they were desperate for press, drawing more attention to rumors most people don't take seriously.

dave cleared the air in 96 because there was a very real thing to announce and he wanted his side out first.
fine.

now- what is there to deny? a bunch of anxious fans who WANT dave back and so they say so? why should they worry? these are real people who have lives and careers. remember when mike said - about the coverdale/bach etc rumors:" oh yeah , we heard about that.."
but was there an official denial? no.
the coverdale thing was denied by coverdale.
vh has ignored everything else.

i used to buy into all the stories- annoying my friends with this or that update.

but so much bs has come and gone. and people still treat every conflicting, unsubstantiated story as "proof" that dave is back and after all- wouldn't dave say otherwise??

there is a big difference between then and now.

is dave back? does sam know? will there be another singer?

we will find out.

if you are ssssooooooooooooo confident about it why worry about an alleged sammy comment?

Doesn't actually prove a thing though, since everyone knows who Brittany Spears and Michael Jackson are, but we don't use the Mikey quote to prove they're in the band.

Point is we have no solid proof either way. We've all just concluded DLR is back with the band. I believe he is. But point is, why worry about what Sam said if you believe it.

I still think as long as VH is silent on all fronts, Dave is still in the band and calling all the shots. When VH tried to reunited with Dave in '96, they were still popular. Now, interest in the band has faded, so Dave (IMO) is trying to rejuvinate some interest by saying nothing officially...spreading various rumors...recording in Indianapolis, New York, et cetera...

Sammy 103? I think he's about 5 years older than Dave...which would make Dave about 98...

As far as ol' Sammy's voice being shot.....he can still outsing Dave.

I think Sammy's voice sounds the same as it did ten years ago. I can't say the same for Dave's on his last album DLR Band.

That's just clear cut. Even if things weren't to work out with Dave (which they will, if they haven't already

) we'd ALL know who Mike meant at the time of the interview.

It's obvious Littleguitars that you have not seen Sam live lately. He has lost nothing in the voice department. As for the Hard Rock Live performance on VH1, I'll agree with you it was pretty sad. But, if you know anything about most of those performances, they are done in extremely small venues and the mixing equipment from live to tv is crap. I caught Sam's show in St. Louis in July and his voice was as powerful as ever. I do agree, though that if Dave was booted we probably would have heard something by now. Of course, I would have thought that if he was in fact in the band that we would've heard something too. Oh well, go figure with these guys.

Hey, Brownsound--if you're gonna use big words, at least make sure you're using them correctly. You're stretching the definitions of "requite" and "contingent" a bit and jamming them into contexts where they don't necessarily fit. Also, exactly which "malapropism" of Dave's were you referring to?

Little Gutars-What you say may or may not be true about sammy's voice, I'm going to see him in Hartford on the 31st of Oct. One thing is for sure, Roth's voice is totally "SHOT TO HELL" . There is a huge question mark on weather he will be able to keep up with what a VH sound show is today.
