I thought Edward didn't like people making money from guitars signed by himself. I thought that was the main reason why they didn't allow guitars to be signed at in-store appearances anymore.
I guess there are different sets of rules for some people and us 'common' fans.
If I had my EBMMEVH guitar signed by the man himself, I would cherish it forever.

Well, just how much would a guitar like that cost if it didn't have his signature, if it wasn't the last one, still in the case, etc...........?

The last I read on that was that Ed signs four guitars a year for four big charities that ask...so many do...I've heard and read that he doesn't sign guitars anymore due to the fact that fans like us get ripped off by people selling the autographed axe...Can't stop...addicted to the shindig...

A good condition one like that will go from around 1800. to 2500. right now depending on the color and the top. Probably closer to 2500 if it's in excellent condition with the market the way it is. The signature (and yes it is Ed's)would realistically bring the price up to about 3000.-3500. depending on the condition of the guitar up close. Bodies can be photographed at an angle to make the tops appear more heavily figured than they are straight on.
If it was a very highly figured quilt top model like Ed used and signed, it might be possible to get about 4000. or more, and if there was written documentation of it being the last one, never played, signed by Ed, and proof (photos of Ed signing the guitar at the plant etc..)some collectors would pay upwards of 8-10,000.
It's not a highly figured body though, and quite common as far as tops go, so this guys asking price, although well intended is waaaay off the mark. I don't know what he;s thinking.
I can't see what Ed would have to do with the sale either, unless it's sitting at Ed's house right now.
If it was specially picked to be the last signed body made they'd probably use a highly figured quilt maple top, knowing the value ahead of time. It could have been done by an emplyee at the plant though, who knew it was the last one.
These guitars are very rare though, (only sold from 91-95 and made in very limited quantities)) and the supply has almost dried up since most guys that own them are hanging onto theirs.
I've seen rare colors(green, non transparent gold top, and non transparent black) go for 7-10,000. without a signature.

I was lucky enough to get my trans black EBMM signed by Eddie in 1995 backstage in Richmond, VA on the Balance tour. He signed the inside and outside of the back plate. Very cool. He was not signing anything at that time, but Scotty Ross made it happen for me. Nice guy.

If you like cool, rock music, check out REVERY. We've put out two albums, and an EP. We were signed back in '06 and toured the US (our single Popstar Wedding was all over the radio back then). Our latest album, Adora De Phonic is available on Itunes, Amazon, etc.

Jape, sounds like you were in the right place at the right time. With my luck if it was me they would have thrown me out on my ass..lol
But then again for just 30,000, I know where you can get the last EVH guitar, signed by Ed, and probably with a nice EB strap thrown in for good measure. I'm sure the case probably comes with it too, and it's probably the last one made as well.
