Why Are We Here???

OK... we are all here because we are fans of Van Halen. However, it is pretty obvious that we each like something different about the group, Dave, Sammy, or Gary era not withstanding.

What is it that you like about VH??

I'll go first:

What initially hooked me to VH was the sound of Eddie's guitar. I remember thinking that this skinny young kid sounded like Godzilla during Eruption, specifically during the wammy bar crashes. I was in awe of the power he generated from the guitar, equivilent to Jimi or Townshend.

THEN

I became hooked on the band's (Dave's) carefree and cooler-than-you attitude. What a combination of power and now finesse.

HOWEVER

More specifically, what brings me to the site now as a fan is the chance to honor the artistic legacy and chemistry of VH that I best remember, which in my case is Dave, Eddie, Alex and Mike.

That's why I come to this site everyday regardless of where I am in the world, 'cause the art of the original VH means something to me.

One of the main reasons why I like Van Halen is the great song writing. It's fabulous, yes, and I would also say that Eddie's guitar playing just about makes my toes curl. He's got some of the best riffs ever. Chemistry is important too, and this band always had it.

For me, VH (Dave-era) reminds me that not everything in the world has to be taken so seriously. For early Sam-era, it reminds me that not everything has to have a symbolic meaning... [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

I'm here because I'm unemployed and this is the only mental stimulation I get outside of watching Nicktoons with daughter all day. That spongebob is one funny motherfucker.

I came here originally for vh news in '99. Now I don't really care about or expect anything from vh but I've gotten to kinda like a few of you knuckleheads I guess.
