Just wanted to share this post I found while perusing info about my other favorite group of whiny rock and roll cry babies....
I seriously question whether or not someone would lie in this much detail on a completely unrelated message board.
Just some fodder for the masses......

Here.. and i found it oddly strange that there is a guy named Justin Timberlake BTW what does IMHO mean?
Topic: The Cult vs. Van Halen
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of you may not be big fans of Van Halen, but IMHO they were the greatest Amercian rock band, ever.
Anyway, last year I had the opportunity to work on a "reunion" record (as assistant engineer) with the band and their original (and best) frontman, David lee Roth. The shit they recorded was amazing but they simply couldn't get along. As much as I love the music these guys make - in person they were so fucked up. Being a rock star does strange things to people. These guys were arguing about the stupidest shit - like light levels in the control room. They let all these petty differences blind them from the reality of the greatness they were creating. Just a few overdubs away from completion, the project was scrapped.
The reason I'm bringing this up is because it now seems another one of my favorite bands, The Cult, are falling victim to the same demons that have plagued Van Halen. Atleast their reunion record was released but it's still a fucking shame they can't put aside their differences and do what they do best - make incredible music. If, however, Billy and Ian are anything like Eddie and Dave, I can assure you that they're dealing with gargantuan-sized egos and little things can get blown WAY out of proportion. It's sad and now it looks like another great band has let a successful reunion slip through it's hands. This is home, this is Mean Street!<br /><br /><b><br />Then one year you find ten years have gotten behind, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. - Pink Floyd, Time</b><br /><br />"Everyone knows that Van Halen with Roth is the only real Van Halen."- Mike Tramp<br /><br /><a href="http://www.vhforums.com/vhlforum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=12;t=001366&p=66#00 1635" target="_blank"> OBEY THE DFK!!</a>

In my honest opinion.
BTW both bands should get their shit together and hit the road together and save rock and roll for generations to come.

By the way, I think THE CULT are a great band. They've created some excellent rock n' roll. Too many good bands being wasted by personality differences. Life's too short.

So a guy that worked at 5150 on a Van Halen reunion record is posting on a "CULT" (awesome band IMO)website?
I guess stranger shit has happened.
I wonder if Dave saying that "they basically hate each other" stems frome arguments over the fucking lighting level in the control room and other dumb shit.
Man,I'm getting depressed.

I was the one who put that post up on The Cult's message board. I knew Will would read it and freak out.
Just a practical joke. Or maybe it was impractical, in which case I've just stooped to the level of Brad Starks! Yipee!
Nevertheless, it's still an interesting thread to read because The Cult fans have a shitload of great stuff to say about classic Van Halen.
Here's a few example:
"Halen has a HUGE worldwide following, whereas the Cult are a forgotten band most people associate with their high school years....."
"In my opinion David Lee Roth's flamboyancy, vitality, insatiabilty and outspokeness got Van Halen "noticed" at first. The band's amazing talent gave them "credibility."
"VAN HALEN WITH DLR IS THE ULTIMATE PARTY BAND. PAUL STANLEY, STEVEN TYLER,AND ANYONE ELSE CANT COME CLOSE TO CONTROLING A CROWD THE WAY DLR CAN . IF THEY EVER GOT BACK TOGETHER IT WOULD BE THE ALL TIME HIGHEST GROSSING TOUR IN HISTORY. "
"You said it baby!!! One of the first concerts I ever saw was Van Halen Backing up Black Sabbath in Midland, TX. Needless to say they kicked the shit out of Black Sabbath, and David had on red leather chaps with fringe and a tiny little red vest and a white cowbay hat. I have never seen anything like him before or since!!! The acrobatics were unbelievable (especially in those TIGHT chaps!), and never before had I EVER HEARD guitar playing like Eddie!!! He is one of the (if not THE greatest) guitarists alive, and with talent like that who cares if he's a prima donna!!! Van Halen and The Cult are completely different - in style and culture. But, the important thing is they are individual in nature and unique..."
"There are definite similarities between the two. Answer me this, just who does the Cult owe their sound to?"
Pretty nifty, huh?

I'm not even tripping. Trump will take this. He's going to win at LEAST one of those 3 major battleground states. That secures the presidency. Btw, she's not winning my state.
