Sam & Dave Cancel/Postpone Darien Lake

Just heard from a friend that the show is off for tonight. I've seen some people were coming from long distances to see the show so maybe someone can pass the word on to them before they leave for the show. 97 Rock also confirmed this.

Don't know what to take from this, but my initial reaction was not good. Could mean a ton of things though, both negative AND positive.

Something positive I've been told is that about 8,000 tickets were sold, plus last night at Darien, Supertramp played and another 500 discount tickets were sold for Sam & Dave. The info comes from a friend that knows someone from ticketmaster. They were also expecting about 1,500 walk ups the day of the show. With this amount of tickets sold I think it helps the chances of a reschedule over being canceled.

I hate it when artists cancel shows due to poor sales.
Just suck it up and cut your losses and play for the people that WANT to see you. Isn't this tour for the fans?

But if it was canceled/postponed for this reason, I don't think it would be rescheduled, because whose to say that more will be sold.
But if its because of illness or something then maybe. But with only one show remaining I seriously doubt that too. i think that Sam can't wait for 11 pm tomorrow night whne he can finally say adios to Dave and HELLO to Eddie & Al.

IT'S TRUE!!!I JUST PHONED DARIEN LAKE AND THE SHOW IS CANCELLED!!!!!!! THEY CANCELLED IT THIS MORNING!!!!!!! I CAN'T BELEIVE THIS!!!!!! The first time I called they said it was cancelled, but I called back and asked and they said postponed. So it is postponed. The lady also was angry and she said people from all over are coming here and they don't know that it is postponed.

I heard that one of the band members(not Hagar or Roth) is sick. I don't know if that is the Official Story™ or the truth.

Personally, I think all past present, and former members of Van Halen should be barred from the VMAs. Everytime they are on the show, bad things happen.

i am outraged!!! me and my friend drove 4 hours from toronto to find out it was cancelled!!!

we even talked to some guy who FLEW IN FROM SWEDEN! for this stinkin show!!!! he spent 1200 bux!!!!!!
and no one would give us a fucking answer!
the security people said THE TRUCKS AND BUSES WERE THERE in the morning but left!!! WTF!!!!!?!?!?

How do you think I feel???

I booked the hotel, showed up Friday, went to DL on Saturday and mid-day went to the guest services desk to see that it was canceled.

The lady there said EVERYBODY was pissed and it was very last minute. This is quite true as I saw them unloading the transport trucks with stage shit that AM. Also, I don't know who owns the bright red tour bus, but that was there. She said the crew was about 50% finished stage set up when they got the word to tear it down.

I fucking only hope it was post-phoned!!
