Hmmmmm....

Mike's playing with Sambo next Friday at their annual Xmas bash.

When asked about VH Mike said, and I quote " Between you and me I'm really trying hard to pull Hagar back in."

I think this is beyond rumor status at this point. Mike really has made a career out of knowing when to keep his mouth shut and when he starts saying things like "between you and me" it sure seems like there must be some fire under that smoke....

I know there are other opinions, but if VH announced that Sammy was back; even for only 1 album. It would easily be the best moment musicaly for me in the last 8 years. The mere promise of a new VH album with Sammy would make up for the years of silence almost instantly.

Actually Mike has been known to say such & such is going to happen only to have Brad say it's complete bullshit on behalf of the band.

lets move away from dave and sammy and get some hot rock n roll guests in there ! get the two back for the hall of fame thing ,oh and even gary ,im dave to the heart! but after the summer stunt which thats all it was, all this kidding on fighting arguing ,silly publicity. maybe 20 years ago, were all to old for that shit any more! and for mike to try and get sam back? one tour then back to square 1 . dave back and the tours massive then lets get back arguing! and guess what ed no"s this!!!

Baby steps everyone. This comment by Mike doesn't bode to well for Sam. The comment, "I'm really trying hard to get Sam back" tells me that the thought is being met with much resistance from the brothers. I can deduct from this comment that Sam is off the table and Mike is doing all he can to talk VH into changing its mind. This also means that Roth or a guest album may be on the table. This also backs up the claims that Mike has zero say in VH matters.

Glad you could tell us what Mikey really meant[/QUOTE]The fact that someone is really trying hard tells me that there is resistance or that it hasn't been easy. Maybe the brothers are seeing Roth and $$$$$$$$. With Sam, perhaps they see half-full arenas.

I wouldn't leap to the assumption that Sam's off the table based on this, but it certainly indicates that it's far from being a done deal.

What this comment would indicate to me as well, is the first documented sighting of Mikey's backbone. Using the media to promote his personal choice for the singer option, a move he knows will incite the Red Rocker contingent, may not be entirely well-received in 5150 Land. Everything I've read lately seems to indicate that Mike really hates Roth. He was all but ignored in 'Crazy from the Heat.' It was almost Roth's way of putting him down, not even acknowledging his existence. Now that he's financially set, would he have the balls to walk if Sam's not in and Dave is? I think he may be at that point.

With Sam, perhaps they see half-full arenas.[/QUOTE]The way I see things is the only way Roth comes back is if Eddie goes Bankrupt.The more this soap opera drags on without a sound from Eddie the more I think Van Halen is through and he just doesn't want to admit it to the fans.If they came back now with .......(insert singer)most people wouldn't care except us diehard fans.They are an afterthought to most people that listen to todays music.I don't think a tour would be that successful with either of the singers now.Hell whats sad is that I read in the rumor mill about them (ed,al,mike) supposedly meeting at a restaurant and the waiter thought they were the former back-up band for Gary Cherone...LMAO .Van Halen sure seems to be fading into the sunset

I don't think Mike would pull this bullshit "Between you and me " with a radio show that airs to several million without something going on.... He wasn't sharing a fucking secret with buddies.... He wasn't even talking to fans like Rols... He was making a forshadowing announcement. That's PR 101.....

Obviously it's not a done deal, but it seems to be one that is at least picking up speed.

Personally though, I am more inclined to agree with Gman in the sense that I don't think Eddie cares any more..... And that in a nutshell is the hold up.....
