I think everybody accepts the fact that Dave is working with Van Halen again - or at least has worked with them at some stage of the past almost 3 years. I'm sure most people also believe that Dave is the most promising and likely choice for Van Halen as their next singer. But, still, this is Van Halen don't forget. It would be wrong for us to believe 100% that Dave's back and they are gonna rock the earth when (and if)this new album comes out. I think it is important to be cautious in our conclusion regarding the new singer, after all Van Halen have loved surprising us before, they could very well do it again!

I DO NOT think Dave is back. I DO NOT think Sammy is back. If either were back, WB would NOT have let VH go, especially if Dave was back.

My gut says singer 4 will be announced soon. So I guess your "everybody is blind, how can they not see Dave is back" theory is crazy.

Why am I a "blind Sammy or Gary fan" because I see the that WB wouldn't let a money-maker go? You're the one with blinders on, Mr. Dave-or-the-Grave.

Why is it that we continue to insist WB let them go when BOTH the band and WB have said it was VH's decision? Granted, I'm not saying I believe it, but I'm also not insisting that it's the opposite. Eddie has made his displeasure known about WB at various times in the past, even as far back as Diver Down, when he said some coke-heads at WB fucked everything up, which is why the album didn't get into the top ten.

I can easily see Eddie and Co. cleaning house, and WB letting them walk since nothing has happened in years. WB may have NO idea what's going on, and given their financial position, you think they want to fight with a band that MIGHT or might NOT have the ability to make money? IF Dave is back, they've done a GREAT job keeping it secret, as it seems like nothing has changed in years, same old rumors. Don't you think they could've kept WB out of the loop too? Especially if WB wasn't really keeping up with them communication wise. For all we know, there is an album cut and produced, ready to go, and they are laughing their asses off since now they'll be able to cut their own deal, either with their own label and keep all the $, or make a favorable deal with a new label by showing them an album in the can, no production costs, just market and distribute for the most awaited reunion in hard rock history. There's a no-brainer sign, and the band can dictate.

I don't think the above is what's going on, but you know what? It's just as likely as anything else on this board.

When I said WB let them go, I mean they let them walk without trying to keep them on board. Would WB let them walk to another label if Dave was on board? Hell, no. They'd be ready to cut a BIG deal. Ed doesnt need WB. He has his own recording
studio. They can make a greater percentage
per record with their own label. The only
other major advantage of the big Record
Compainies is the promotional aspect and
the "Advance". They have enough money not
to get on their knees and beg for the advance.
They also have their own studio.

Weigh it up, get 10 cents per record and massive
promotion from WB, Sell 5 million copies.
Get $10 per record, no massive promotions and
sell 500,000 copies..
