Nothing new here that we haven't heard, but a cool conversation with this guy anyway.
I called Arrow 101.5 here in central KY, who is nothing but classic rock at this point, and plays plenty of Roth-era Halen.

WKQQ, which is our "Bob and Tom" *cough* *cough* affiliate, has not answered their phones for the last two days.

Anyhoo - here's the conversation -

DJ: Yoooo!!!!

Wolf: Yooooo yourself!!!!

*laughter*

DJ: What's up, man?

Wolf: I was wondering what your word on the Halen rumors was....

DJ: Halen?? As in VAAAAAAN Halen???!!!

*more laughter*

Wolf: Yes, that would be them. ( )

DJ: Man, they're releasing the new material in the early spring. It was recorded 18 months ago, and then Roth - I guess he was coked up or something man - (snickers)
Hell, he let the cat out of the bag! But, yeah - they'll have new stuff out in the spring...at least that's what the radio stations are being told...

Uhhh, you like Van Halen, man?

Wolf: Hell, I cut my teeth on them, man. Now I mod on a discussion board about them in my middle age.

*both laugh hysterically*

DJ: It's fun, isn't it?

Wolf: Yeah, except for the lack of news.

DJ: Awwwwwww yeah, I like that Van Halen, man. I could go for some right now...

Wolf: Well hell - then play some!

*laughter*

DJ: Well,hell - I think I will. Take it easy man.

Wolf: You too, bro - thanks.

DJ: No prob, man.

Sounds to me like the DJ's are getting their information from the net just like we are. I wouldn't be surprised if the just look on these boards for all their info.

Look at what we must do to entertain ourselves and to discuss vintage Van Halen. Kinda sad really. At this point I still feel Dave is coming, but who out there really gives two shits now. I mean sure we here will buy the new album and I'm sure a tour would do well, but what could it have been last year or even in '96? Staggering to see how a group of people can dick up countless situations.
