I downloaded an mp3 last night of a live version of "5150". They really did a good job with it, almost note for note guitar work. It was supposedly done by Satch, Vai and Steve Morse. But, I really don't hear three guitars. I was just wondering if this was who actually performed it, because you never really know. I see "Top Gun Theme" by Van Halen all the time.
Who is singing?

Go to www.sampleaccurate.com. I've seen the mp3 that's supposedly of vai, satch, etc. but I have a feeling it's just being passed off as such. Go to http://www.sampleaccurate.com/5150-S...-bootleg-a.mp3 and see if it's the same thing.

I know what you are talking about. It sounds like the same singer from a couple of songs I've downloaded,(5150, Top of the World, and Dance the Night Away). The other two claim the singer is Axl Rose and the rest of it is actually VH.
Who ever IS playing the instruments should start a tribute band, because it was dead-nuts perfect (exept for the voice). If it really is VH & Axl, I will unfortunatly be forced to burn all my VH albums, move to Colorado and become some granola eating pussy who sings the praises of John Denver. Not that I would ever do that, because there is NO WAY Ed would put up with Axl long enough to even record one song, let alone an album. For Christ sake, he thought Sammy had a shitty work ethic. Axl is a rich bum.Man, all I can do is make music and put it out, and if people like it, they like it, and if they don't, they will sooner or later.- EVH

The drummer is sloppy as hell. But the guitarist is great!

Well, it's definitely NOT Van Halen, nor is it Axl Rose. Apparently just a band that does a shitload of covers. Yikes, can you imagine Axl as #4?

I finally watched that all the way through. Frankly, I buy it. I think he's telling the truth. Watched a follow up film fully produced with better quality from an interview done later in his life...
