Sammy's comments last September

Do you guys remember what Sammy said about DLR and VH a while ago? I went to the VHND and found this report from last September and what he said sounds close to what Dave said yesterday:

"I was also told that they got four songs done with Dave, things didn't work out, it blew up a month or two ago and Van Halen is putting out a box set of David Lee Roth era stuff. I don't know if those four songs will be on there, but that's what I know."

I remember hearing people say he was full of BS when they read this but it looks like maybe he was right. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

Personally, I think these guys aren't nearly as deserving of some of their images as we give them credit for. I don't think Dave is near the media genius that we make him out to be. I also don't think Sammy is near the "people's champion" that he's made out to be.

Take the music away, and I'm not sure we'd really want to have these guys for friends. Except Mikey probably. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Yeah but, he said that they have to be friends again first before he would re-join VH. After being friends with them for eleven years, I think that it is definately possible that they can become friends again. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Looks like Sam was just about right on the money. And everyone threw out his comments as bitter rambling of an ex Van Halen lead singer. interesting......

Maybe there should be a Recovery Group for Ex Members of Van Halen. "Hi my name is Gary and I'm a Former Van Halen singer." *pause*

Yes Browmsound, but DAVE HIMSELF said that they so far have ONLY recorded 3 new songs....and that was last JULY.

Sam's comments (though perhaps not 100% accurate) were pretty close to what really happened.)

ie: they recorded 3 songs (Sam claimed 4 ,he must be an OPTIMIST [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] ) and then stopped and have not recorded more since!

Sammy and Mike still talk ? Could be that Sam is still in the loop as far as info goes, but I dont believe he will be back with VH. Anything is possible though.........

If you want my humble opinion I would bet a Buffalo Nickel that Mikey was Sam's source, reagrding what he heard last fall. Sure Sam said 4 songs not 3, but maybe he got the info slightly mixed up who knows....?

I would bet that Mike and Sam are more likely to communicate right now (and in recent history) then Ed and Sam.

I would never RULE OUT the possibility of Sammy returning to VH. However it is highly unlikely in my opinion....

Who knows though?
