Are these two seperate comparisons, or just comparing the two albums?

Anyway, I'd go with 1984. The album that started it all for me, and though I love Balance, it's not going to beat 1984 in my ears.

As far as Dave or Sammy (gee, has THIS ever been a topic before? ), it would be Dave by a long shot for me.

As far as 1984 or Balance though, that's tougher for me. There's only two Dave-era albums I'd put Balance over, and that's Diver Down and 1984. It's a lot closer with '84, but I still think I'd have to give Balance the nod.
