I've relayed this story to a few past Domer/Linkers.....The Great Tim Pabs(Where are ya BUD!!!) and Doc. Love...
I would hope that most of the guitarist/fans in the guitar room and VH fans in general would have no reason to believe that I would make up some petty shit like this...
I was stationed at TRAVIS AFB, Ca..My Buddy Abe, was friends with Brad Starks, who I did not know at the time...
Abe brought a promo Cd to work, before the single came out, and when I heard Without You I thought "Hey, we're gonna hit it big time here." We all know how that went...
Well Brad was throwin some kind of party over there right? 85% of the music played there was rap/dance, and I asked Starks if he dug Van Halen and he said "He's not that big of a fan, and it's mostly business." The guitar he had in his garage was really such a piece of shit kramer with like two or three switches and pickups...and not even functioning...
Well one of his fuckin fat buddies, I mean FAT, who was actually a roadie for VH during the three tour, threw me in the pool cause he thought it was funny. Well I spent the better part of an hour spitting skoal straight on that fat fuck's back...
All in all, what I'm trying to realy to ya'll, even thought you'll probably say "duh" is that Starks is pretty much no Van Halen fan at all...
I saw that dude at the VH III Tour in Paso Robles, Ca...and said "hey Brad man, can you get me back there man?(I had a stage crew pass from a buddy that did a catering dig for Halen)"
He said "sorry man, should've caught me earlier." So I said fuck it..
After the show was over, I went around the rodeo grounds, and ran into a combo locked gate, showed the dude my pass and he said "I didn't see ya" and he let me in...
Before that, I was yellin in the back stretch of the rodeo grounds yellin to mike anthony yellin "HEY MIKE" he said "YEA" I said "Brad there, nah...hold on"
Any way, I got back there, and the VH Brothers were like the President, and I got to bullshit with Mike Anthony for a bit, and then Gary...just thought I'd share that with ya'll...FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!

Thanks for the story, but I think we have known that Brad is not a big VH fan for sometime now...

Brad is more of a Brad fan than a Van Halen fan. He should start a band called the Bradtones or something...

is part of the job description to be a fan? if he's doing a bad job as webmaster, it's because of a different reason than not being a fan...

I think if you are running an official band web site, it might make sense to be a fan. I don't know, maybe it's me. And yeah Brad did put together that VH Encyclopedia site way back, so who knows.

Prior to becoming VH's webmaster, and internet spokesman, he *did* create and run a very informative website called "The Van Halen Encyclopedia". He was also an early staff member of "The Inside". I don't think if he wasn't a fan he wouldn't have devoted as much time as he did to those projects."Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."
"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

Fuck, look at all the goddamn arsekissing that goes on in this thread. It's easy to tell who the fans are and who will sell the fans out, that's all I am gonna say.

TMVH, I'm here dude!
You may have sent this to a different email addy???
Look me up on AOL IM. My name is "Pabs815".
Cool story BTW.CHICAGO WHITE SOX - 2005 WORLD CHAMPIONS
The Chicago White Sox (1901-present) - The Original SOX - Proof
The Boston Americans (1901)
The Boston Somersets (1902)
The Boston Pilgrims (1903-1906)
The Boston Red Sox (1907-present) - Proof
The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.
The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.
