Here's something to consider - for anyone familiar with Paul Westerberg or the Replacements, Westerberg just put out a home recorded album on Vagrant, a little LA label, got a manager he could live with, and booked a bunch of little shows. There's nothing stopping VH from doing the same. Shit, the Replacements at their peak couldn't match Sam & Dave's summer gate (which is a crime itself). It's probably the same thing DLR did for his last couple albums, although I haven't paid attention to him since 1984.

There's no studio cost, since they're at 5150, and obviously they've never spent a lot on producers, so I'd think it would be profitable enough for all involved. Either the brothers are too proud or tired to bother with bare bones back to basics rock n roll, or they're simply content to live at the homes their music paid for, instead of dealing with the vagaries of the business. It's not like everyone else hasn't fantasized about early retirement. Stay at home, relax, get to know your kids and enjoy the rest of your lives.

Maybe if you went by 5150, you'd hear the faint sounds of a tuba solo...
