So Tired Of Waiting

I'm so damn tired of waiting for new Van Halen, or at the very least, some kind of official word as to what the hell if anything is going on. I'm sure this has been done to death, but I'm just sitting here at work bored and mulling over the state of Van Halen. The Sammy & Dave tour gave me a little taste of what used to be, I want it back! I know that the brothers probably couldn't give a shit less what we want and that pisses me off even more. My patience is wearing incredibly thin, I'm almost to the point of saying "fuck it" and moving on. Eventually I will, and eventually most of us will, then when Van Halen actually does return, no one will care. Ed and Al, where the hell are you?

I'm in the same boat - things have slowed down here at work and I found myself at the news desk looking at all the archives the last four years. I can't belive this - it's so depressing.

JUST TELL US WHATS GOING SO WE CAN ALL AT LEAST MOVE ON!

at least release Between the Two of Us and any of the stuff they did with Dave!

I honestly beleive the VH bros. dont give a rats ass about their fans. Talk about disrespectful. I dont care if the wait is for health reasons or whatever, theres no reason to go almost almost 4 years and basically say nothing at all. And once in a blue moon when they do release a statment, they say "we'll be back soon" then nothing for years.

If they dont plan to do anything, they should just say your not going to hear from us this year or for a couple of years or whatever.
I mean, they dont even have to give a reason, just let us know they're gonna take a break.
I like EVH but i this sure seems like a crappy way to treat your fans.

I know your pain. I personally truly believe that Dave saw this back in '85 when he bailed. Yes, he had other issues too, but I think he saw their work ethic and was just trying to light that perverbial fire under their asses with a hollow "I quit" and it got more serious than he thought it would...

Sam was the lyrical felonist. The VH bros got lazy from being drunk and stoned off their asses after "1984". They wouldn't get busy, Dave made his stupid bluff and they took him up on it. Any of you guys that are married know the deal. You make a bluff you don't really mean and she takes u up on it and then turns around and tries to make u look bad.

Kind of makes you want to strangle that bastard from the Dome Fernando. "Patience" "The fountain is always clearest at the source" and all of that shit used to drive me up a wall. But I was right when I said they are done! Say it Fernando...SAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think most of us are at wits end tring to understand what the heck is going on with Van Halen these days. It's really a huge shame because these guys were untouchable for so long. I still keep hoping that we'll have one last hurrah with these guys but as the days and months drag on it just becomes less likely. It was a great run but I guess all good things eventually come to an end sometimes a little too soon for most peoples liking.

that's pretty ludicrous to give dlr credit for that kind of foresight. presumably, he would have also known then that without the world's greatest band behind him, he would disappear quicker than bologna under a dog's nose. with that kind of foresight, he would have seen a second chance coming in 1996 and NOT fucked it up. with that kind of god-like epiphany, he would have seen a THIRD chance in 2000, and made extra sure not to FUCK THAT ONE UP TOO. either that, or dlr's alleged foresight has more bald spots,err BLIND spots than a fucking tank.

yeah, people are complex and screwed up. they say things all the time they shouldn't, stuff falls apart, and no one ever says, "It was my fault." all i know is that the bros. have tried twice to get back with "the diamond one," and i don't think they should get crapped on for that.

it would be nice to have a concert cd, or rare tracks, or bov2 to tide us over, but who's going to release it? WB already stabbed them in the back.

you know what really blows my mind? its how EASY it would be to talk to the fans via the internet. I know that Eddie hates the internet, he said what he felt back in Rolling Stone a few years ago. But... look how easy it is for all of us to relay our feelings on here. Couldn't Eddie or Alex just get on their site, or this one for that matter and just put out a statement once every 6 months saying "hey ya'll we are not going on tour or writing an album yet, be back in 6". how hard would that shit be? damn! I mean they could post every day but I wouldn't expect an artist to do that. Look at Joe Satriani's site, he loves the net and posts to his site regularly, now that isn't even neccesary for VH just some kinda conversation. It sickens me to my stomache. why wouldn't you want to let your fans know a little something every now and then? It's rediculous. Yes cancer is private. Yes divorce is private. I'm not asking them to tell us anything like that, or if Dave's back or whatever. Just come on every few weeks/months and say "what's up we are not currently working". So we wouldn't sit here going gee what is my favorite band that I have grown up listening to for my whole life and spent hundreds of dollars on doing. I'm not saying they owe us anything, they don't. But, it would be very freaking polite to inform people who Care about you (and I'm not saying I even go that far but I know there are those of you out there) every once in a while, not once every other year and when you do not give any details as to ANYTHING!

that's a fair point, and what i think a lot of people have been trying to say. you're 100% right. a simple update every six months would be professional, and eliminate a lot of the bad feelings that are on display here. you think that would be basic professionalism, but i assume that's one of their weaknesses. it's amazing how uncommon common sense is. of course, if they had a real manager or web master, then they could probably be trusted to write up a single sentance for an anxious and dwindling fan base. i guess they're just too anti-net for their own good.
