    first a comment about sambo:

he's often maligned, particularly by rothtards, for taking the band in some sappy, Hallmark-like direction.

fact is, i believe eddie started the band down that road long before sambo was even a thought in ed's head. 1984 is all the evidence i need. sambo simply followed ed's lead. and what the hell, they sure sold a lot of albums and made a lot of cash, so i can't blame either of them.

anyway, back to Planet Us: i'm betting the new stuff will ROCK. i've always appreciated Schon and believe underneath his poppy Journey tunes lies a guy who wants to dial it up. and he's a fantastic guitarist, very different than ed, but excellent in his own way.

and with sambo at the helm, schon will have the freedom and, in fact, encouragement to let the sparks fly. sammy's more recent releases are decidely heavier than the MTM stuff and my guess Planet Us takes it up another notch. should be some interesting, old school-type rock and roll.

on the other hand, it might suck major league.

    hopefully, we'll know soon enough.

After hearing that Vertigo song, I don't have much hope it will be very good. And I don't really care for Neal Schon all that much. Who knows.
