Everything I've read about VHII suggests that Outta Love Again is a show case opp for Alex. But Light Up The Sky has an incredible drum solo on it! I find it hard to believe that it isn't even mentioned when refering to Alex's featured work...
"One thing about Eddie... when he has a guitar around his neck, he's not tryin' to bullshit anybody..." - Sammy Hagar, 2002

I like Alex's solo on Light Up The Sky. I think his drumming on Outta Love Again is pretty good too. Of those two songs, LUTS is my favorite.

Light Up The Sky by far. Outta Love Again is actually one of the only songs from the Dave-era I don't really like.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne
"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello
"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

Achievements:
I think Al's drumming is better overall on OLA, but LUTS is a far better song. LUTS kicks 10 different kinds of ass!

Light up the sky all the way Alex kicks ass on that song.
On the LITTLE GUITARS tribute album, they asked Vinnie Colauita to play the drums, I guess that means something.
Vinnie is one of the all time best jazz/studio drumers in the world.
Nuff said."I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone
"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth
WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

Man, this isn't even close. Light Up The Sky totally blows Outta Love Again away!!!! Everything from the music to the lyrics are superior. Just my opinion though
Always one more,
You're never satisfied.
Never one for all with you,
It's only one for me
