If any one hear is also a Led Zeppelin fan....how did Led Zep go out? Did they just go silent like VH is doing....as in no news type deals? Or did they say "Hey, Bonham is gone, were tired of this, so we bid you good bye." I was just wondering. My second question....if VH does come back, I believe it will be a kick ass record/tour. They don't have the balls to keep us all in the dark and give us a pile of penguin poo. I mean, c'mon, some VH fans have to be crazy enough to go ballistic on one of the members. (but if someone does....I would like to vote for a cruel and unusual punishment for the person who does it So....any answers to my Led Zep question?

I don't know the answer to your first question, but I just wanted to point out that your second question isn't really a question.

Good luck...

My recollection:

When JB died, the band "broke up". RP went on to a successful solo career. JP played in The Firm w/ Paul Rodgers, played w/ David Coverdale and did other musical stuff. JPJ produced and took part in a number of musical projects.

The band did reconvene w/ Jason Bonham and/or Phil Collins on drums for a few special shows (Record company anniversary, charity benefit, etc.)

Van Halen seems to have some mileage left in 'em. We'll KEEP our fingers crossed.

Nobody in Van Halen has died. (Well nobodys seen Alex in quite some time )

Led Zeppelin lost their drummer to choking on his own puke.
They decided that they wouldn't go on as Led Zeppelin without him. They did get together for a few benefits like LIVE AID. Plant & Page worked together and toured several years ago and they didn't invite JPJ to join them. They were after the all mighty $$$.

Van Halen only has changed singers several times and each one of them is still alive. They had alot of issues to iron out with 2 of them before any reunion could take place.
It appears that Eddie was/is ready to work with Dave again and then the "LAWYERS" got involved.

I strongly believe that 2002 will mark the return of the mighty Van Halen Band. After all, if Florida could resolve a controversial Presidential election (if it was correct or not, who knows for sure) then I think that 4 musicians can resolve their differences and even though they might not be best friends, they can at least make music and tour together. On stage, thats where all their talents shine. TOGETHER.
They don't have to be joined at the hip, (sorry for the pun), all they have to do is show up for sound check and the show.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

VH will be back the coming year, and the fact that there isn't that "blood" brother relationship within the band and singer, that's what creates the powerful energetic music we will get!

Thanks for the info, I suck at finding info like that on the web, so it was much easier to post it and wait for answers. I apologize for my error on only have one question in my "2 question" statement. There was another question, but it seemes to have slipped my mind. Oh well. Now I sound like a drunk lawyer.

I did a quick check on a Zep site; Bonham died on September 25th, and they issued a statement saying they wouldn't continue on December 4th of the same year.

I bet the reason for the delay of any reunion is due to "lawyers getting involved" is more of an excuse than a relevant reason/issue! Just a hunch!
