While discussing about Zach de la Rocha's departure from RATM he compared it to Van Halen. "Its like Van Halen without David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar, it just doesn't work." I thought it was interesting because I didn't think he liked Van Halen with Sammy Hagar.

It is interesting that he would say it was like "Van Halen without...Sammy Hagar" because Stern makes no secret to his preference to DLR. Still, he's had Sammy on his show several times. That's just typical of Stern, though!

Howard Stern has always been a Van Hagar fan. Stern also attended some Van Hagar shows back in the 80's.
It was only until 1992 when Roth first started appearing on his show and built a freindly relationship with Roth, that's when Howard would start goofing on Sammy.

MightyVanHalen I will have to correct you. I remember Dave making his first appearance on Howard's show back in 1988. Before Dave came into the studio he was calling Dave, David Weave Roth.

Very true.
"David Weave Roth" was funny, though. I have to admit that.
Stern's a kiss-ass.
