How much interest is there in an EEAS Band reunion? Though they were amazingly talented, their main success came from the spectre of Dave just out of Van Halen. Didn't Skyscraper sell less than EEAS? Is there any reason to believe that the world is waiting on a reunion of this band?
I'd be excited about it, don't get me wrong. I just don't see this as being a tour guaranteed to sell out arenas.
Personally, I don't see Vai and Sheehan wanting to work with Dave again unless it's as equal partners, but that's just a gut feeling.

Actually, if you read between the lines of things, I'd say this is the natural occurrence of things these days.
It's becoming obvious that either Ed doesn't want to work with Dave or Dave doesn't want to work with Ed (or both) - otherwise they'd have this thing worked out.
Where else would Dave turn to? His stunning, "count your sales on one hand," band that performed with him on DLR Band, or the EEAS/Yankee Rose band that he made to excellent albums with?
Of course the question of will Vai work with him is still out there. But my two cents is the ideal world would have Roth making music with the EEAS Band and Sammy making music with Van Halen."Just once I'd like to do the right thing and not get punished for it."

Imagine the fun we'd have here discussing VH vs Dave in a whole new light. (well, new since boards like this didn't exist back in the late 80's the first time around) We could relive the whole Sam vs (potential) Dave of the cd. Ed vs Vai { }. And so forth.
I think this place would become as volatile as a hyperactive UFF/EUAS thread on steroids and speed. I think physical violence would actually erupt. Monitors would be bashed; CPU's shot and kicked. Mouse cable hangings. Sledge-to-keyboard attacks.
Damn, it would be entertaining as hell!
I wonder how many VH songs Dave's band would do on tour...

If and when it does happen my guess is Sammy Hagar will be on the next Van Halen album. Which is totally cool with me. I'll buy 'em both!

I'll be there Dave doesn't need the money (none of them do), he wants to play on bigger stages but EVH doesn't want to do a reunion....or VH in any form I believe. EEAS probably wouldn't do arenas but they could play bigger venues than DLR band. Maybe 3-5000 capacity theaters and large clubs or a shed tour with the right supporting cast.......how about Sammy Hagar and Tribe of Judah for an evening of Van Halen without Van Halen
Also, Sammy isn't going back to VH.....he said so himself this week.....there are too many issues beyond personal dislike. Why do you think Eddie is sitting around doing nothing with (allegedly) 3 albums worth of material if another singer was an option?Delusions of eloquence

I agree that the EEAS Band could probably play theaters. My point was that the only two other times Dave toured with that group he played arenas as a headliner, and I don't believe that the fan interest exists to do arenas again.
I've gotten the impression from some people that they think a joining of Dave, Vai and Sheehan will generate the interest in Dave that existed in 1986. I don't believe that's even remotely possible.

Me neither. It would be bigger than DLR band though - and if Dave can't have VH, then his next best choice for something big to cash in on the VH hype (whatever is left) is EEAS.
Personally I'd far rather see them at Roseland or Hammerstein (large theaters/clubs) than MSG in New York.Delusions of eloquence

Sometimes someone has to post a certain way for it to click I guess if I wanted to speculate, I'd say that neither Dave or Sammy are interested in a reunion given the latest articles ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

God Bless the USA!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Does anyone want just a tour from the EEAS Band? I'd much rather see them record an album first and tour to promote it.
They'd need a producer who could keep them in line. All of those various musical interests and different directions could produce an awfully loose album. People say that DLR and VH have grown apart musically, and that would hamper them working together again. Vai, Sheehan, and Dave are further apart than VH and Dave could ever be.
For some reason the idea of them getting together does nothing for me. Dave was the draw for them on those 2 albums. Dave would still have to be the draw, so I don't see them doing any better business than DLR Band. Does that line of thinking make sense? Yes, Vai and Sheehan fans would buy the album, but how large is that market? I really don't know.
Do any of you have Steve Vai's Vai? That was the last time he worked with a vocalist for a whole album, I believe. That sort of material is in no way suited for Dave.
The G3 tour just played two nights in NYC at a venue larger than the ones Dave seems to be playing. There's the pull of Satriani too of course, but that can't be that much bigger.
I think it will have a nostalgia value draw beyond DLR band. But not arena size.Delusions of eloquence
I certainly would want to see a new album from the group before they went out on tour. If they got together and pulled a Dave by just touring on old material, that would shatter any shred of credibility they may have leftover from the mid '80s.
