IMO the absolute *BEST* live solo Ed ever did was on that tour, and since I'm a guitar nut lwan gets it.

The Right Here Right Now video is just another example in the VH history of one that got away. I don't know if my ears are playing tricks on me, but the video sound is way better than the sound of the live RHRN cd's.

Even a song like When It's Love, that I don't really care for in its studio incarnation, has a more ballsy feel to it on the video.

But, of course, Van Halen went ahead and had the video clips jumping all over the place and just ruined it. If it had just been a single show put together, RHRN would have been amazing. As it is, it's annoying to watch.

LWAN is clearly superior and belongs on DVD.

Incredible.

LWAN is hands down better all around. The energy can be felt through the TV.

The problem w/ RHRN, though I thoroughly enjoy it every time I watch it, is that they put two nights together & you can see the difference, where as LWAN was one show. A Bad-Ass one @ that!

PS-You're right about the sound on RHRN Glenn. I've always thought that too.

LWOAN had that honeymoon feel to it. It was the better show for it's energy. I just wish the distortion in the PA hadn't happened. How good would that have been had that not happened?
On a side note, If VH ever puts out a box set, I hope they do a VIDEO box set of each members favorite tour. Just don't butcher it by letting a director mix different shows together. Think about it. I would hope 1984 and OU812 shows full length, then any other three tours added in. I would drop $100 to see those two complete shows plus three others. As a bone throw in the complete video collection and some behind the scenes studio stuff either audio or video. No cost to the band and it would make the fans happy during NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS.

I think both videos show a band that was a shadow of its former self, but I agree with most folks here that LWAN is the better of the two -- it definitely has its moments.
