Hmm, interesting read as always. Well I hope this DVD or whatever it is exactly comes out soon. I'm dying to hear, or even see, anything new!

Looks like Dave is definitely doing his own DLR Band thing now. Definitely shoots down any VH reunion rumors.

My guess is a new DLR Band release (CD and/or DVD) Q1 next year. Dave is basically doing everything himself -- so there's no bureaucracy to slow him down. There's nothing like investing a million bucks of your own money to motivate you to release new product. If only the Van Halens could be as motivated..

I've gotta admit I'm completely baffled about this whole thing. First of all, I think the website download takes longer than watching the DVD. I mean I baked cookies while waiting for it to go!

Secondly, he's proudly says he spent "one million dollars of [his own] money to create it" but for whom? For the "1200 fans" he mentions saw him in Philadelphia? No record contract, no movie studio interest, that we know of, can't show it on TV (he says it's an R rated version of the Little Rascals) He has a cast of thousands and even more musicians...why?

And why the special industry (unfinished)screening? Is he thinking about going into directing (again?)

And finally, none of those pictures, captions or propoganda made me want to run out and buy the thing. And I like the guy. How's the general public going to swing?

I remeber dave saying that he was going to make a dvd during his dave saves the day tour. It was going to talk about his last tour he just had. Behind the backstage and other things. If I remeber right I think he said something about the dvd and what he was going to tell what he was going to do for next year. I could be wrong. But I read it somewhere over the internet. I think it was at daves old site.

Dave was spouting off at his KC show last June about an upcoming DVD. He had 2-3 cameramen swinging thru the place quite a bit so we all left with a feeling of anticipation that "Hey, it'd be cool to see this show again on my DVD player."

Still, when people tout about spending their own money to produce something, it makes you wonder how good it's REALLY going to be.

Here's hoping to being pleasantly surprised in 2002 and some reality finally being acknowledged.
