o.k. after being on the fence for 2-3 years now
with regard to VH and DLR ever intending or attempting to legitimately reunite, this morning Mon March 4, 2002, 9:08AM, i have come to the absolute conclusion after watching the second DLR video/song offering at davidleeroth.com that the only reasonable explanation is that VH & DLR are absolutely reuniting. there is no way in hell that this is a serious and bonafide attempt on DLR's behalf at creating the music he likes and that he knows, as evident by his current live show , people want to hear from him. i will go as far as to say that he and the members of the DLR camp have been brainstorming ideas as to the most ridiculous concepts they could come up with as a big joke on fans who will say DLR has gone off the deep end.

DLR - "o.k., how about if i'm running through an abondoned mine shaft with a machine gun aimed at the camera"?

production assistant - "yeah, but let's have three body builders dressed in dog suits chasing you around."

DLR - "great. except make the body builders
hot triplet sisters. and instead of dog suits, make 'em wear cat suits!"

i mean come on! if this is for real and this is DLR's vision, thank god EVH came to his senses.

I would much rather believe DLR is having one hell of a time at our expense in concocting the most ridiculous situations his warped little mind could come up with to throw us off the track and then WHAMO! VH featuring DLR!
i just feel bad for the people who are convincing themselves that they can like this current DLR style only to be embarrassed later.

i will reiterate. 20 min. ago i was not sure. after watching the video i have never been more sure of anything. DLR can only create something this bizarre and obscure and bad on purpose. in fact i wouldn't be surprised if VH is helping him plan the horrible concepts.

It really amazes me how some folks will come up with the most rediculous explanations for DLR's recent display of extreme senility, in an atempt to justify a reunion that is *never* going to happen.

Go ahead, keep telling yourself that:

a) David Lee Roth is sane
b) David Lee Roth can still sing
c) David Lee Roth actually still talks to VH
d) Eddie Van Halen wants Dave in the group
e) Van Halen will return with Roth at the helm...

You continue telling yourself that, and you will become just as crazy as David Lee Roth. Look at what happened to him??? He's off his rocker....he spent 15 years believing that Ed will take him back....only to loose his sanity.

I hate to say it, but it seems that Dave put a lot of time and money into his "DVD"... the Dahm (sp?) triplets don't work for free, I'm thinking. The props, tunnel, costumes, etc... Dave's cash. You think he'd blow a million bucks for a joke? Maybe... or maybe he's lost his edge and is trying (in vain) to re-capture it somehow...

Anyone who has watched the video on Dave's web site and still thinks he can lead VH is in need of some serious help. Lets face it folks Dave has seen better days and is now just making himself look even more washed up then his Las Vegas days. Ed and Al must be laughing their asses off at Daves efforts. Even Ford can not possibly justify what Dave is doing now.

what makes all of you think that DLR spent so much money on this project. just because he claims to have spent a million of his own dollars to date doesn't make it so. with a home studio & minimal recording software the audio could have been manufactured in days & you'd be surprised for how little a couple of film students will work in return for a chance to work on a bonafide DLR video release.

What does his video have to do with leading VH?

Have you seen him in concert lately? I'll answer that for you. Obviously no. If you had seen him in concert playing 99% VH tunes you'd never have made that statement. He still possesses great stage presence. He can sing all of the VH (Roth era of course) songs perfectly. He still does all the jumps and kicks. He can still lead VH without a doubt.

Now as far as his new techno music and videos are concerned I can't defend him here because I don't like them either. I like classic VH and this is certainly not that. That doesn't mean Dave can't do what he did from 76-84 though.
