Well if you read this little press archive from this past winter I'd say no way.

According to sources, Van Halen's contract was not up with the label, but the two parties negotiated a mutual release. While one source says Van Halen left because Warner Bros. wanted the act to record a new album with former lead singer David Lee Roth (with whom leader Eddie Van Halen had written three songs in 2000, according to Roth), Eddie Van Halen had vetoed that prospect

Mike is a HUGE part of Van Halen's sound. He might not be a flashy inovative bassist, but he carries his own, but the most important thing he provides is his vocals.

If Eddie wants VH to be an intrumental band, then sure go get Sheehan. But he won't have Dave either.

I still say that the reasons for the recent Dave/VH "put on hold" stuff was because Eddie was sick, and Ray Danniels(and others) had some kind clause in their contracts to get money that VH didn't want to give them.

It's kinda hard to rock and roll when you have cancer.

Well, logic would say that Mike wouldn't be on stage with Sammy on a Sammy/Dave tour. I really doubt the brothers would allow that if Roth was coming back. Along with Dave's statement on Eddie wasting time, and Eddie stating that the songs they did with Roth in between 1998-2000 would not see the light of day. These might be good indicators, however we are talking about Rock stars here. So hang on to the dream if you wish.

Why would he want to work with Dave again? Eddie moved on, and he moved in a direction beyond Dave's grasp. Eddie moved along with time and didn't lock himself in the 80's. No need for the nostalgia thing, leave that for KISS.
