Remember the DLR JUSTICE website? - Proven true this week!

Anyone remmeber the DLR Website that stirred up shit in late 2000 and early 2001?

It was started just after Dave sued the Van Halen store. It featured all the court documents from the law suit.

It was suppose to have been started by Ultra-Dave fans. But at the time, I had a feeling it was Diamond Dave himself behind that website. Now I'm positive of it.

You have to remember that at the time of that website, many people were all positive that Dave was recording with Van Halen, and the "big" announcement was coming out any minute. [img]graemlins/wtf.gif[/img]

Then this site pops up with Dave's artwork all over it and it made claims that Ed was drinking and smoking again and hadn't picked up the guitar in 10 months.

At the time, we were told Ed had stopped smoking, and Brad said ED was working on music every day. So the site really stirred up shit. [img]graemlins/devil.gif[/img]

Well fast forward two years, and just about everything that site mentioned has turned out to be true!

The one thing that stood out in my mind concerning that site was that it claimed Dave was pissed off at Van Halen because they weren't paying him royalties for the Best Of Album. It claimed that is what screwed up the 2000 reunion, it was a small thing, but Dave just didn't trust them because of this. Here is exactly what the site said:

our sources within Warner Brothers Records, have told us this morning, that they have just discovered the reason Roth hasn't recorded with Van Halen since last July has nothing to do with Eddie's health. Instead, things came to a screeching halt over financial deception, to Roth, by Eddie Van Halen, over the royalties of Best Of Volume 1 and his "continued inability to work with the singer after getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar."

And this week we see that there may have been truth to that too.

Geez, I thought everyone knew that the DLR Justice site was started by TK, back when they were his webmasters. Part of the reason they started that site was to come after the Army. We knew who they were, and I honestly thought everyone else did too. To be perfectly honest it was the only time those two knuckleheads ever said anything that was factual. It's just too bad that they had to do it under an alias.

That DLR justice site always struck me as a site run by assholes who had managed to totally miss the point as to what DLR was all about.

They used to carry on with so much shit we eventually started closing their posts as soon as they posted here.

I remember asking TK if they were behind the DLR Justice; they denied it. I know a lot of people pointed out that the site had the same template as Slawterhouse, but I didn't think it was proven that they were behind the site.

This weeks legal action certainly proves DLR was behind the site.

I wonder if Dave actually believes Ed never had cancer????

I had this info passed onto me by someone anonymously.

Theres not a lot of doubt it was Roth at work. Bizzare behaviour, as that site really sucked some ass attitude wise.

I know a lot of shit said on that sight was mean spirited, but the sad thing is, it has all turned out to be the truth, with the exception of Ed never actually having cancer.

So does Dave really believe Ed never had cancer? I am strongly begining to think so. But is it also possible Ed lied about having cancer? I do recall an interview with Val where she said it wasn't exactly cancer. Anyone recall that? Hey Grant??

He may have not thought so at first, but I think eventually Dave believed it, with all the comments about not taking shots at Eddie while he's not healthy. This may have been his first reaction when he found out all this info. Remember, if true, he thought he was being screwed. Probably the same reaction most of us would have had to if someone did it to you.

Maybe this is what Ed meant by saying "Call me" and "He knows my number". Dave's saying "Love you baby, call me" Maybe this is what caused them go lose contact. Hopefully it can be resolved soon.

Back when the news broke in 2000, Ed was described as having preventative treatments. The docs from M.D. Anderson said at the time that the information about his having cancer was inaccurate, and that he didn't have cancer. During the brief flurry of press releases, Ed said there was a good chance he'd be cancer free in the future. He also said the doctors had told him he was beating cancer.

All that--taken with a healthy dose of skepticism--and you could conclude that Ed never really said he had cancer, just that he's the same as most of us: cancer-free in the near future.
