I spoke with WB...again

I spoke with Warner Brothers again...there is nothing earth-shattering here, but I hope it helps shed light on what is going with our favorite band.

I called WB, they answered some questions for me. They had no answers for some others. They seem to know about as much of what is going on with VH as the rest of us here at the Links. They were not evasive or saying "no comment" at all. They honestly seem to be as much in the dark as the rest of us.

The first time any publicist associated with VH heard of their splitting with Warner Brothers was LAST WEEK.

Karen Moss WAS the publicist for VH, but Liz Rosenberg assumed those responsibilities because she is a personal friend of Eddie. Liz Rosenberg said she has been "trying to contact Eddie..." regarding a press release, but NO official press release has been issued by WB at this time. She reiterated that VH leaving Warner Brothers happened on a totally amicable basis.

Upon further conversations with others at WB, I learned that no one at Warner Brothers EVER heard any of the three songs recorded with Dave. Other persons I spoke with agreed that a VH album with David Lee Roth at the helm would be a big seller...but it was implied that VH were the ones who initiated the exit from WB...one other person noted that since they have been working at Warner Brothers, they noticed that VH was a band "who fight alot and can't decide what they want..."

Not one of the various persons I spoke with had a CLUE what VH will do next. None of them had heard ANY new music, they had NO IDEA who was singing for the band, and no knowledge at all of their immediate plans.

I don't have a friend who sweeps the floor of the Boston Civic Center or anything like that. I am not some super sleuth. I made a PHONE CALL. This is all 100% straight from the WB mouth. Some of you could very easily do the same. I promise they know NO MORE than we VH-Internet junkies.

I'd make a wager that IF jimmy page's info is correct (It sounds like he knows Mikey's gardener or something), VH might be planning on telling us they are working with their own label in 2 to 3 weeks. We'll get a "yes, we're working on a new album. No, we won't tell you who the singer is, no we won't tell you just yet when we're touring". WB probably just stopped asking VH inc. what their plans were.

My source is not one of VH,but a family member of VH.I was told a announcement would include announcing who the vocalist was.MIKEYS statements at that car show a few months ago are true.I was told the failed 1996 reunion,that dave was still very demanding and this is why its taking so long.I was told its different now and everyone really wants it to work out.

I dont know everything about the current status,but i have a lot of key info.I didnt want to drill my contact with 20 questions,but i asked 8 questions,got responses and thanked them for there time and asked if i could call back again.I was told yes,but i must protect the identity of my contact.

As we speak,there are plans being drawn out.A offer will be made to vocalist #1.If its not accepted,then choice #2 it will be.#4 vocalist is not a choice.

So, according to you, Mikey's comments were true, Dave is in. GREAT.

And according to you, Dave was reluctant because of the 1996 fiasco, and he has been very demanding so that's why it was taking so long, but know everything is different and they want to work it out, but they haven't even made an offer?

And they're ready as soon as Dave says no, to ask Sammy or Gary back? Right.

And according to you, Mike's statements were true, meaning Dave is in, yet you refer to him as vocalist #1?

Why didn't you just say if Dave says no, they will ask either Sammy or Gary to join again?
